LED Flashlight, USB-C Rechargeable, Magnetic Jobsite Light (DCL183)

Purchased June 2024 after failure of a cheaper flashlight that was great - until it wasn't and no longer charged after little use over only 12 months. This De Walt DCL 183 was chosen after an in-depth search online. There's a lot of low price and low quality flashlights out there. This one isn't. PROS - Solid build, in China, but De Walt specify high quality and get it. - Three illumination choices: High (1,000 lumen), Low (250) and Flood (400). - I use Low for pre-dawn walks in local forest, High to see distance, and - Flood for special purposes - e.g. illuminate for photography - minimizes reflected glare. - 3 year warranty - easy to register online. - Claimed run time is High 2.5 hours, Low and Flood 6.5 hours - After 3 weeks daily use that claim seems OK. - On/off button cycles High - - > Low - - > Flood - - > High again.. - The setting when you turn the light off will be the setting when you turn on again. - LED light informs battery level - over 50%, 25 to 50%, under 25%. - Small LED light warns when battery level is very low. - Battery can be charged at any time - there's no memory effect. - Easy charge from a USB port to the flashlight. - Charging cable is De Walt and also high quality. - Rubber cover over the charge port is often a weakness on flashlights, but - This one seems better than most - time will tell. - Excellent Instruction Manual that's worth reading. CONS - Instructions say that the light is not waterproof and should not be used in rain. - Although, based on build quality, I doubt it's going to leak like a sieve. - Charge times are slow - 1 to 4 hours depending on power rating. - Not light weight. Solid build has a cost. - Magnet too weak to hold light except when orientation is favourable. - Hanging hook is useful, but also has an orientation challenge. - Plastic case is smooth - can be slippery if your hand is damp or greasy. - Another reviewer has suggested stick on some grip tape. Would I buy again? Yes, based on performance so far.

Great light. Has become my go-to for housework. If I'm in the crawlspace or working on something, I love that this thing sticks right to our hot water heater or other metal surfaces so I can go hands free and still see. It's got a metal casing, so it can take some abuse and still shine bright. Also great for walking dog at night with 1000 lumens.

DeWalt you've done it again! This flashlight has 3 different modes being regular light,dimmer light,and my personal favorite torch mode😁It charges via C-Type charger and comes with a magnet at the bottom for a hands-free shine in case you have your hands full.The quality is AMAZING it feels nice and durable and has been with me a while as of writing this review.Please try it out,trust me you won't be disappointed!

I'm an engineer and quite frankly I really like flashlights, don't know why, just do. I've got all shapes and sizes, but, when I saw this unique looking DeWalt flashlight...being a DeWalt fan, I had to have it. This is a FANTASTIC flashlight, extremely bright, excellent battery life for it's size, love the magnet and side light feature, I've used that several times working on things, just stick it with the magnet to the area above and go to work. Like another reviewer, I would prefer a different way to switch between modes, but all that is forgiven by how great the flashlight is otherwise. Every guy in my family are going to get one of these lights, haha, that's how I do Christmas gifts, I find something I like, everyone gets one. Compared with other flashlights I have, this one is unique, it's specifically made for a jobsite, to work with, loops for hanging, magnets for the a good stationary light position and that side light which I thought was strange before I actually had it, love that. If you like flashlights, I know a lot of guys that do, you need one of these.

When I first got the flashlight I was impressed with the weight and build quality and it wasn't big and bulky. It didn't feel like I was going to break it if I dropped it off the ladder. The main light is bright. Sometimes using it directly is too bright and you need to use the dimmer setting. The side flood light is ok... I was disappointed in the light it gave off. I feel they could have used another 1 or 2 led's in it. The magnet on the back is strong but isn't really strong enough for the weight of the light. It doesn't always mount horizontal (like on the back of a oven, washer, dryer... The battery lasts pretty well and charges at a decent speed. Overall it's worth buying.

Good quality

When you think of DeWalt you would not think of a flashlight, but they have hit this one out of the park! There is no plastic except the lens to be found. It is solid and durable. The best thing is you don't have to change batteries. And the rectangular shape is great to set down on a tray in your truck and not roll around. It has been dropped several times without any sign of damage except for maybe a little paint chip here and there. There are no bells and whistles just a very good,bright and durable flashlight. Oh by the way it has a very strong magnet and a fold away hook on the end for working on vehicles or machinery etc.

Eu gostei de tudo nessa lanterna. Possuo diversos produtos Dewalt (inclusive de iluminação) e não me decepcionei com o produto. Extremamente bem construído, versátil e potente. Comprei a DCL 182 tb e, comparativamente, gostei mais dessa lanterna (apesar de usar para propósitos diferentes). Possui LED potente (luz branca fria - mais de 6000k) e com controle de intensidade. É mais focal (bem lanterna) e tem ótimas funcionalidades como a luz mais difusa na lateral, o ímã na parte de baixo e o gancho. A entrega, apesar de ser envio internacional, foi rápida e superou a estimativa. O único ponto que alguns podem achar meio negativo é o fato de ser um pouquinho pesada. Contudo, para mim, não é ruim. Recomendo.
