Good strings for traditional Bass thud.
Put these on an old Vox Bassmaster Bass guitar from the 1960's. The strings are coloured coded on the ball ends for identification and the other end is golden yellow silk wound. This thinner silk end fits through the hole in the machine head post adequately. The silk end should be wound around the post only and not the black tape wound area. There should be no silk area over the fretboard. The sound with these strings is good and thuddy and quite close to a double bass sound for a fretted instrument. They are not suitable for slap type Bass playing style. If you want treble toned zing then these are not for you. These have a warm tone for traditional Bass sounds. They are manufactured in the United Kingdom in Sevenoaks Kent are a quality brand and are not cheap as a consequence.

Great sound and feel
Love the sound and feel BUT they are only just long enough to reach once round the tuner on a Gretsch G2220 bass

Short scale - but TOO SHORT for my short scale bass
Bought these for my new Hofner Violin Bass. Had them sitting around for a while awaiting the end of lockdown so I could take them to my luthier to put on when he set up my bass. Sadly, I've had to order a different set as he contacted me and told me these strings are too short - despite my Hofner being a short scale bass. This has come as a great disappointment as I was really looking forward to hearing the sound these strings are reputed to produce. The E-string is also too thick for the nut, which is cut for a 95 or 100, and the E on this set is a 115..Once I get these strings back, after I've collected the bass, having had to wait for more strings, I'm going to try and return them.If you have a Hofner Violin Bass, forget these strings.
