didn’t keep food as warm as I thought

It's nice, serves its purpose, just not sure if it's the right thing.

This insulated container is big enough for a full meal's worth of chili, soup, or even Spaghetti-O's. :-)I haven't yet used it to keep hot food hot for more than a couple of hours, but even after two hours has passed, the food is still as hot as it was when I first put it in. As in, I still have to blow on a spoonful of soup before eating it or it will burn my tongue.I also really like the handle that is built into the lid. It makes it easy to pull the container out of a lunch / picnic bag and to carry it to wherever you're going to sit down and eat.The smooth, wide opening is great, too. Other thermos-type containers I own have a "pinched in" opening, where the part that the lid goes on is narrower than the overall container. That makes it harder to clean and harder to drink the very last drops of whatever is in the container. Not an issue with this container where the opening is the same size as the bottom of the container.I immediately discarded the plastic spork, though, because I knew I'd never use it.

This is not a heavy-duty thermos. I used it to stack cookies in, which may seem like an odd use, but it kept them fairly warm and saved me a bag. It's a useful item for the cost and it can store quite a bit.

I wanted it to use for soup but it leaks unless you really wrench down on it and even then it kind of leaks.

This is a nice container for kids. You can use it for soups or on the go cereal. It's decent regarding the leak proof situation, but of course you should always be cautious when transporting liquids. The price was great, packaging and shipping time as well.
