Good quality knife and sheath

All-around better than expected.
I had purchased this knife mostly for its ability to be carried horizontally on the waist or vertically on my camp pack. For the price, I was expecting the blade to be something that would almost be disposable (a couple uses before breaking) and I could find a different knife for the sheath. When it arrived, though, I was pleasantly surprised at the solidness of the blade, and the rough and ready nature of the sheath. The sheath is like rawhide, no-frills, but has held up to several configurations and multiple environments, and still seems sturdy. It’s not the prettiest or refined, but it does what I need it to, and it does it well.As for the blade, I’ve taken it on several camping trips where it’s been used to baton-split wood, cut down kindling/etc., and it’s rapidly becoming my go-to blade when I’m working in the yard or garage. Even the edge holds up pretty well, given the heavy use I tend to put it through, but it also sharpens fairly easily. I added a wrist loop, but that’s about all so far, although I might also add something to improve the grip itself since it gets a little slick in wet/sweaty hands.

Don't buy
Shipped fast, but....the sheath arrived with a broken snap and the knife edge feels like it was sharpened by my eye old grandson...the edge has a small chip and feels like it was sharpened as quickly as possible with 250 git only .. very rough edge...If you wear a thick leather belt, you're going to have issues with the sheath since the straps are so tight, you have to stretch and force the cheap snaps to close...I only needed a decent cheap knife to cut twine and straps on my job, so I wasn't expecting shave your nether regions sharp or the highest quality leather for the sheath but this is completely unusable and a waste of money...

I'm fairly Impressed! :) 05-24-2025
First, considering that I only paid $1.05 (US) I am very happy with this knife and sheath. The total price at this writing is $21.00 (US).I had a gift card and some money from my Amazon Prime card that pays 5% back and knocked off $20.00, so that made it a very good price. With that out of the way, When I got it I was slightly apprehensive to open it, I saw and read a few things about it that were slightly negative to 100% negative, as in, "Don't Buy!!!". I like the looks of it so I went for it.I'm glad that I did, everything that I had read about it that was negative I did not have any problems with.Such as:Dull point on the bladeSheath falling apart (Yet, anyway)A completely different sheath other than the one that is show in the seller's pictures.Rivets falling out (Yet)I have included a LOT of pictures so you can see what I received... I made a couple of them look fairly good, the faults though I did not touch. I wanted the real knife to show, but, I also wanted to show that it can be seen as a pretty knife. When and if you want to see the pictures LARGE, please right-click on the image and "Open Image in New Tab" (Or the equivalent for your browser for a 100% size)I am showing these pictures to show you the filler that is used between the metal of the knife and the wooden handle, the jimping. Also, the point of the blade is a very pointy blade...It is exactly 4-3/4" from the very tip of the blade to where the sharpness of the blade stops. In other words, only the cutting part was measured. The overall length of the knife is 9-3/8".The wooden handle is exactly 5-1/2".It is, of course, a full-tang knife. The blade is 'kind of sharp', but not 'cut paper' sharp, it does, but it's a jagged cut, but, I literally expected that for this price, I can sharpen it.There are no nicks dent, scrapes, scratches, or any of that on my particular knife. The rivets in this are not exactly what I would call impressive, but, time will tell, this is a close-up shot to show imperfections AND good work. There is still a gap between the knife and the handle where the blade meets the wooden handle, it was filled with wood putty (I'm guessing) but it didn't fill it all. This is a REALLY enlarged image, so of course it will show more of the imperfections.Even a more expensive knife can not look as good when the image is so enlarged that it shows a lot more than the naked eye.Still, there is a gap there, but, honestly, it barely shows with your naked eye, I am not disappointed in it hardly at all.I expect STUFF that are imperfections, etc. This is, after all, a very INEXPENSIVE knife, just expect that and you should be fine with what you get, as long as you get what I received, anyway.I show the jimping on the top portion of the blade, the cuts that are made are fine, they have plenty of bite in them too, but not overly so.The wood on the grip is actually pretty nice, I love the color, although, these are NOT book-matched, so don't expect perfection. It is still a pretty variation, and if you receive anything like what I did, you will (probably) be happy. The handle itself is LONG! I mean, I have probably 1-1/2" of room left when my (normal-sized) hand is holding it.I don't particularly care for that, but it's not a deal breaker for me at all.The sheath, although appearance-wise is nice, the snap straps that are 'supposed to' keep the knife inside doesn't really do the job very well.None of the straps do a thing, they are just there for looks. Had they pulled them 'just a little tighter' when making these, then they would be perfect, probably...In other words, without unsnapping any strap, the knife can easily be removed. Now, I do have to say this, since this is a horizontal knife sheath, that may be the way they are supposed to be made, I have never owned one.Under normal 'stuff' that you would do, more than likely it would stay put, but I wouldn't bet on it, but, I might be wrong. If I hold it by the sheath with the knife on the bottom, it kind of stays, but if I move it at all, it just falls out of the sheath.Overall, I really like it, but as far as using it, I have not, yet.I really might not take this out on a camping trip without a back-up, 'just in case', after it's proven itself, then I probably would.Just looking at it visually, it's a nice looking (inexpensive) knife, the handle feels good (although long), and the balance of it, due to the long handle is not balanced, but that again does not bother me.For close to $20.00, this is a good knife, although I am far from a knife aficionado. I don't ever buy expensive knives, and I'm happy with that.Remember, look at the pictures at full-size to see what you will be getting, and, remember, these pictures are intended to show it exaggerated, just to show this for the people that are really, REALLY picky. :)I'd buy it again even at the full price.UPDATE: If you look at my picture of the knife, and look at THEIR picture that they provided, you can see that MY knife's handle is a LOT longer than what they show in their pictures. As a matter of fact, mine is the only one in anyone's pictures that has the REALLY LONG handle. Not only that, but the knife's blade that I have is not anywhere as deep from the top of the knife, to the bottom. So, my knife looks extremely streamlined, which for me, is not a plus. Mine measures 1-1/2" at its widest part.I'm removing a star for the inconsistencies.

The media could not be loaded. It gets it gets two stars because the sheath seems to be in pretty decent quality. However the knife itself is a hunk of junk. The blade is dull to the point of being blunt, and while the handle IS made of rosewood, it is unfinished. I'm not going to return it because I'm taking it as a challenge to make it into a nice knife. It's going to take me awhile to sharpen it to an acceptable level and I'm going to have to rub a lot of linseed oil into the Rosewood grips to have a decent finish. I literally took the knife and started smacking myself across the fingers because it is so blunt I had no worries about actually cutting myself. And it would make a very good example of their quality control.
