Sturdy, lightweight, and easy to install.
I installed the Reese Atlas cargo rack on my 2025 Subaru CrossTrek Wilderness edition and it fit great. I also found it to look better than I imagined even though it’s a grey color. The shipping box was a little beat up, but all parts were packed well. A few manufacturing scuffs and dings, but nothing major. Lightweight as well.

Solid roof basket
This roof rack is sturdy and well built. Since it's aluminum, there should be no issue with rust/oxidation over the life of the product, which is the main reason I chose this over a steel or alloy one. The color is not black, it's more of a very dark non-reflective silver. The 4 plastic parts are black, but they just hold the front and rear wind deflectors on the basket, they are not structural pieces, aside from the ~6 lbs of stuff they hold onto the main body of the basket.Assembly is fast, just pop on the front and rear wind deflectors and attach 4 screws to each (8 total, with rubber washers) and the roof basket is fully assembled. In total, maybe 15 minutes to unbox, inspect, and assemble.Mounting takes a bit longer, you can only mount this where a crossbeam is directly lined up with one of the first or last two basket crossbeams. I'd suggest fully mounting the front, then adjusting the rear roof rack to line up with the rear basket beam. It took me about 20 minutes to get that lined up and locked down. Total car mounting time on a Kia Telluride - ~40 minutes. If I had a person helping me, it may have taken maybe 30 minutes total from opening the box to being finished. The weight and size of this makes it very hard to maneuver. It's about 43" wide and close to 46" long. This rack weighs ~35 lbs, so subtract that from the roof rails max weight, and that's the most you can load into the basket. I've got a 165 max roof rail capacity, so I can only pop about 130 lbs of stuff in it.Overall this is very nice, and very versatile. I'm hoping this lasts years.Update: 400 miles into a 550 mile road trip - 0 noise at any speed between 5 mph in traffic up to about 85 mph on the highway. It dropped gas mileage by about 1.5 mpg with a very non-aerodynamic load in it. I was expecting much worse gas mileage. No loosening or movement of the rack at all.

The most sleek looking and most inexpensive roof basket out there.
I just installed the Reese roof basket on my Santa Cruz and it looks amazing. I’m so impressed with the build quality and the matte finish. There are so many roof baskets in the market but to me none of them compared to the look of these so I chose Reese. I really like how sleek the roof basket looks and the color matches my car very well. It’s definitely pretty large surface area that works for storing gear. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m excited to try it out when camping.

Solid aluminum rack with some weaknesses, off color but nice low profile
Solid aluminum welded rack made of heavy gauge pipes and thick flat bars. Connector corners for the front and back pieces however are plastic and the weak parts in the otherwise overall solid construction. Plastic pieces and metal are joined by stainless crews that easily strip the metal and the rubber washers are useless, they just come out from around the screw heads. Some shade of blue gray, not black, finish has minor blemishes such as burrs, spots missing coating due to previous manufacturing residue not being removed. Easy to assemble, but a bit harder to center and fix on the roof cross bars for a single person as its heavy and the roof bar gap need to be adjusted (mine are Yakima with free positioning), the clamps have no cushioning material between the cross bars and the rack or curvature to accommodate aerofoil bars, its metal against metal with straight hard clamps. Has a nice low profile with faring. Weighs 32 pounds. Had to return mine as it sat quite large on my 2016 Forester.

Durable & light weight. Won’t rust because it’s aluminum. Looks good on my Ev9. Buy with confidence

Damage and Disappointment
I spent several weeks looking for a roof rack for my subbie. I came across this rack and dug in on reviews and research. I finally ordered it and was so excited to install it today. The package arrived damage. The outer box was ripped and part of the rack was exposed. I could tell it had been dinged up but thought that, once installed, it would not be noticeable. An hour later, I admitted that because of the damage, this rack could not be assembled. Super frustrated and disappointed. Have contacted Reese and will update with their proposed resolution.
