I read now I will do it
Thank you Michael for the encouragement. I got excited about a new beginning for me. I recently underwent brain surgery. The doctor told me that the odds were against me 80 to 20 percent. I told the doctor I am on a walk for Christ this surgery is part of my path and those hands of yours are not yours. These are God's Hands and He will do the surgery. I thank God for the 20%… I can see out of one eye, I need a walker for balance, and I have memory loss that's all. My mission statement will help me establish my new path.

Michal Gets straight to the point
This is a quick read and to the point. Michal makes it personal and doesn't fluff things up, which is nice because you can get a lot of that in the personal development field.I read quite a bit of personal development and leadership books. This book is clear and concise. He gives personal points which give you an idea of where he's coming from. There are actually a few points in the book that made me stop and ponder on some things in my life. I was truly surprised when this happened. The only reason I didn't give this book a five star rating is because, although it is well written, it isn't something that is life altering (for me anyway) but that doesn't mean it couldn't be for you.If you're looking to create a personal mission statement and you don't want to read through 300 pages of fluff, then get this book. You won't lose anything by reading it; you will only gain something.

Seeking Personal Mission Statement
Great book. I appreciate the fact the the author's emphasis is on searching one's self and that there is no wrong or right way to develop a mission statement. The goal is to discover one's life purpose and then put it into action. Great book with many soul searching questions and ideas. On an additional note, I appreciation the author sharing the fact that much of his personal inspiration came from Scripture.

Sit down with a nice cup of coffee and design your amazing life!!
This is an excellent book to help you clarify your life's mission and goals. Try out the exercises. I would just add: keep things as simple as possible and summarize your mission and goals on one piece of A4 paper. You can place this in a plastic sleeve for safe keeping and ready reference..You can also consider using the "wheel of life" approach adopted by life coaches. My wheel is very simple: Mindset, Moments and, yes, Money!! We all have expenses to fund!

Light on content
Not much depth. It’s not a complete waste of money but I’m definitely disappointed. I feel like I seriously could have written this book which makes me feel a little duped that I bought it.

The perfect place to start on you mission statement.
This is one hell of a book. As the writer says, it's part compilation of exercises from a variety of sources for working on your mission statement, part advice from the author.I got this book after reading chapter 2 of 7 Habits and found that the partner book "How to Develop Your Personal Mission Statement" didn't really get me anywhere (it felt like more of chapter 2 tbh). I had heard some good reviews so made the decision to check it out and BOY were they right! This book provides lots of exercises and advice that takes you from having no idea where to start to having a better understanding of yourself and your principles - key foundations to writing a statement. I then gives you advice on how to compile it into your mission statement, but all the while leaves it up to you what form it will take etc. so that the process and product really are yours. My sincere thanks to the author, Michael Stawicki, for providing much needed practical help and guidance on producing my mission statement. I couldn't have done it without you.

A sincere guide to self-examination and determination
What I like about Michal's writing is his sincerity and the fact that he 'walks the talk'. He clearly writes from his own experience and has found his personal mission statement to be of immense value. If you want someone to enthusiastically encourage you to examine your own life's purpose then Michal does this in a step by step way and gives you the process rather than reams of theory and background 'chatter'.

Does what it says
The introduction states that "This book is intended to save a lot of time". That's right up my street. Today there is too much confusing and contradictory information about that overwhelms you and misleads you into inaction rather than action. Since transforming my health and getting a second chance at life I have found my life purpose. I want to crystalize this onto paper by creating a personal mission statement. I don't have the time to read some of the lengthier books that go into more detail, or the time to do more research myself.Michal's book has helped me get straight to the nitty gritty and allowed me to quickly start formulating my personal mission statement.

Concise Guide for Writing Personal Mission Statements
This is a quick read and provides useful exercises to draw out the key details for writing your personal mission statement. I had to write a personal mission statement as part of one of my post-secondary courses. This book would have been helpful then. I still found this book interesting and useful. I will engage in the recommended exercises in the coming months to see if that will cause me to re-write or edit the previously generated personal mission statement.Note to the author: Mr. Stawicki, your book would impress my academic writing instructor, as you included enough external sources to support your concept. As a reader, I believe you could have made a convincing argument without as many external resources. Your experience writing your own personal mission statement was enough validation for writing your book. Just my opinion of course.

Excellent resource
I have read this book 4 times over the last year. My initial reaction was to state that "I would compare Michal to Robin Sharma, Stephen R. Covey, Dan Millman and John C. Maxwell. It is a mix of some incredible insight, great tips, practice advice and some good steps to get you there." The reason I read through it 4 times was to really work on the material and craft my own personal mission statement. A few years ago I had a co-worker ask me what I was my greatest achievements, he through I would say degrees, certifications, projects at work. I surprised him when I said, being a good husband, being a good father, brother friend. This book helped take some of those areas of life and more and focus them. It was a process, and took months for me to hone and craft it into something not vague, that was succinct and meaningful. And Michal provided guidance along the whole journey.Michal starts, as always by teaching from his own experience. He states "I share with you what my personal mission statement creation process looked like. In that example, I show you which points I consider vital in the creation of a mission statement in general." He also draws often from the late Jim Rohn. Stawicki leaping off from Rohn declares: "Jim Rohn said that the natural order of things is to chisel your character first and the success comes from your character. To chisel your inner self, you first need to know yourself. I think a personal mission statement is the best road map to build your character and consequently your success, however you define it.A personal mission statement is your philosophy, your creed. "It focuses on what you want to be (character) and what you want to do (contributions and achievements), and on the values or principles upon which being and doing are based." It is supposed to allow you to state your own constitution based on your deepest values, so you can lead life premised on them." And that is where our journey begins, with finding our purpose: "A personal mission statement is about your life's purpose. This purpose determines the quality and quantity of your life. Literally."Speaking about that purpose Michal quotes Victor Frankal and expands upon Frankal's though: "Victor Frankl was convinced that every human being has his/ her unique life's purpose. Maybe you even agree with that statement. But it's not enough to know it exists. To have the vague feeling of your mission. What you need is a concrete purpose. You need to know by heart the exact words which will guide you through everyday decisions. Thus, you need a personal mission statement." Unfortunately many in life get stuck believe they have a purpose but never put in the time and effort to really figure out what it is.Michal like us a just a regular Joe, a guy who has learned by trial and error and his had some great successes. He says "Most of us are just common folks who struggle with our fears, doubts, anxieties, past. We don't dream of being a hero, rescuing the world. We dream about a few sources of income to be able to support our families and look to the future with hope. To heal our relationships. To break up our addictions. To reduce the pile of our problems." And the purpose of a personal mission statement is to help narrow that list down and to really go to work on it.Michal wonders "Maybe in following your personal mission statement, you will grow beyond your wildest dreams.", or maybe we will just be happier, more content and more focused. Either way it is a win if we find ourselves living with renewed passion and purpose. But he is adamant in warning us that "Your personal mission statement is not a certificate of accomplishment to be put into the drawer. It is supposed to be your lens, starting point, the source of focus. Use it." And some of the ways he encourages us to use it are:a) Read it every day. Or even better - read it several times a day.b) Meditate upon it. It's the same story as with reading - make it a ritual and compose it into your schedule.c) Listen to it. Record your personal mission statement and listen to it any time and any place you wantd) Visualize it. This is especially important if you included some future aspirations or desired changes in the mission statement.e) Create a vision board. Find pictures and photos corresponding with your mission statement. Stick them to the board.f) Make a mind movie. Its function is similar to a vision board - a mind movie is meant to fire up your imagination. So go for it get the book, but in the work and let's see the places you will go.

Not a lot of depth
While the book is short and concise I felt like it could have been a lot more. This felt more like a long blog post than an deep look at personal mission statements and could have gone much further in how to use them to enhance your life. If you're completely new to mission statements then it might be a good start.
