Honest 70mai A810 Dashcam Review
When my wife asked for a dashcam for her car for her birthday I began researching them. After watching numerous videos on YouTube I quickly decided that I did not want a 'cheap' dashcam as the quality of the videos were basically useless in the event of an accident. However at the same time I did not want to break the bank either as now I decided to get one for my truck as well. So I decided that it needed to be priced under $150 for each and I needed to be able to install it myself. The 70mai A810 seemed to be the clear winner. The video quality appeared to be great, the reviews were very good and the cost, including the harness, came in just under my price max range. The units arrived quickly, were packaged very well and without damage. Again I began watching YouTube videos on how to install the units. In my mind it broke down into 3 parts;1. Decide on placement of the cameras before beginning (this unit had front and rear cameras). I needed to decide on the path for the wires as to not interfere with airbags...VERY IMPORTANT!2. Electrical; 3 connections are needed... 1 connection for continuous 12v power (required for Parking Mode), 1 connection for ACC 12v power (applies power when ignition key is turn to accessory or engine started and 1 connection to ground3. Hiding all of the wiringThe install in my GMC Sierra Extended Cab was straight forward and I ran into no real issues. I did spend an extra day coming up with how to mount the rear camera in the middle of the slider window and still be able to open and close the window. All of the wires were easily hidden and the install looked professional. My wife's Buick Envision was another story. I decided on the front and rear camera placements and had it approved by the wife (VERY IMPORTANT!). The electrical gave me some problems though. There were no extra fuses not in use that I could use. Also the fuse box was so small that I was unable to use fuse taps because there was not enough room to install them. So I ended up taking the car to an installer and had them run both 12v lines for me. After that the install went smooth and quickly. My wife was very happy with how the install turned out and gave me a thumbs up for approval. My wife and I are very happy with our dashcam choice. Video quality is great and the install looks professional. I installed the app running on each of our phones with no issues. We recommend the 70mai A810 dashcam

Nice and small.
I was looking for a small dash cam with good resolution for the front and rear camera, well this is it. On the Chevy Bolt 2023 EUV there is a plastic cover around the rear view mirror. I was able to mount the camera on this piece of plastic and only about a quarter of an inch extends below the rear view mirror, so no real reduction in visibility through the front windshield. I mounted it using 3M VHB 4611 heavy duty mounting tape as it gets up to 150 degrees in a parked car where I live and I did not expect the provided tape to manage this type of heat. I powered it using an OBD2 type hardwire cable, also available from Amazon.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJQWNZDW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleI have only tried to use the power cable in the ACC mode, so I can not comment on the surveillance mode. This a great little camera and you can't beet the price. I will update this post after summer on let you know how it did in extreme heat. One thing to bear in mind. If you plug this into a USB C Laptop using your own cable, it will not power up. You have to use the provided USB a to USB c cable for it to work properly.

Best Dash cam ever!!!!
Outstanding Dash Cam – Packed with Premium Features!I've been using the 70mai A810 4K Dash Cam (Front and Rear) for a few weeks now, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The 4K front camera paired with the rear cam provides crystal-clear footage, both day and night. Thanks to the Sony Starvis2 HDR night vision, license plates and road signs are incredibly sharp even in low-light conditions. One of my favorite features is the 4G LTE support, which lets me check footage remotely and receive real-time alerts. It’s peace of mind, especially when I’m parked in unfamiliar places. The built-in GPS & Wi-Fi also make transferring files and tracking routes super easy. The ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) is a game-changer—it gives helpful alerts for lane departure and potential collisions. I also really appreciate the 24/7 parking mode with AI motion detection. It automatically records any suspicious activity, and the time-lapse mode is great for conserving memory while still capturing everything.Installation was straightforward, and the companion app is user-friendly. Overall, this dash cam is a powerhouse—perfect for daily driving and long road trips alike. Highly recommended!!!!👏👏👏👏

Quite
Several years ago I purchased a 70mai A800S dashcam. I could not set it up properly since the setup program was on the tiny screen of the camera and I could not see the letters to read the prompts. Now I bought this dashcam and it is much better. I can read the prompts much easier on my phone. I gave it 4 stars because I wanted to install the app on my Android 13 car stereo but it would not install. As a matter of fact I tried a few tablets but the app would not install on any of those either. I could only install it on my Motorola phone. Maybe future versions of the app will be made to install on tablets and Android Car stereos also.Another improvement would be a stand-alone app which could take screenshots of individual frames. The screenshots would be cropped around the license plate and enlarged enough to make out the license plate number. If that is not enough to see the license plate number, maybe cropped sequential images can be stretched or contracted then superimposed on each other to bring out the license plate number.
