Great printer and fantastic customer support
I have been printing fairly often (sometimes 24/7), since I bought this printer 4 months ago. I try and get the HD resin when possible, and everyone I've shown has been impressed with the level of detail that this printer + the resin have produced. Sometimes I'll get misprints, but I think that's pretty standard for any resin printer and 99% of the time it comes down to a handful of easy adjustments: - Exposure time for the bottom layer -- (I've also found that applying PTFE lubricant at the bottom of the resin tray and then letting it dry before adding resin in has really reduced sticking) - Resin type/quality (I haven't had tons of luck with clear resin, but all shades of grey, white, and translucent green have been great) - Tray leveling - Supports/angle of what I'm trying to print I must also say that their customer service is fantastic, and if you're in the warranty period and having issues, email them. They sent me very helpful videos which have resolved some issues (some issues were due to my own fault and a resin spill) and when following the instructions didn't help with a LCD screen issue, they sent me a replacement part (and a video of how to replace it). This was my first adventure in 3d printing and this printer was super user friendly! I'd definitely recommend it.

Great printer but be wary of the screen
So much more detail than an FDM printer. My first order i was not able to print successfully. Turns out there was an issue with yhe screen. Seller sent me an advance replacement and have been printing flawlessly ever since. Seems like there my be issues with the screen so verify operation before disposing of the packaging. Overall the machine is exactly what I wanted for printing miniatures for TTRPG's.

You won't find a better resin printer to find out if resin printing is for you.
This is a great "first resin printer" so you can experience first hand how messy and troublesome resin printing can be. It also makes incredibly beautiful high resolution prints. The included charcoal filter is a must if you want to print with some of the more toxic resins. I am glad that I bought it, but be warned while resin printing is "better" than filament printing it has its drawbacks and is not the easiest technology to master. If you stay with resin, be prepared to buy a washing station and a curing station--not to mention extra resin tank, filters, funnels, gloves, UV glasses, masks or respirators, release film, etc. Keep resins, rinse chemicals and waste away from children and pets.

Absolutely terrible product and customer service.
Elegoo sent me not 1, but 2 defective MARS 4 printers. First printer the LCD just died after about 5 prints. The test print rook never even worked because their resin settings were completely wrong. Second printer made about 2 successful prints until a light leak began to produce “ghost” objects, things never included in the .goo file. Included flash drive also malfunctioned mid-print about 4 times with a Udisk error. I ran the exposure test and lo and behold an entire STRIP of the LCD WAS DEAD. After continuous failed prints I took off the black tape and removed the glass screen protector AND changed the FEP as a last ditch effort. No success. I know for a fact that my resin and printer settings are correct. I believe Elegoo is selling a largely flawed and defective product. Both printers lasted LESS than two weeks each. This is a joke for a 250$ product. ALSO, SUPPORT RESPONDS ONCE PER DAY.

Works, but needs a tweak
I had high hopes of getting a good replacement for my dying Mars3. So much for that theory! The printer I got can't even print the sample file! I tried replacing the FEP and putting in fresh new resin. All I got was a thin disc in the bottom of the tank. FIVE TIMES!!!!! I am returning this piece of junk and will try ordering another one in hopes of getting a working machine. If the new one works I'll update this review. I have heard nothing from Elegoo support about this issue. No surprise there. UPDATE: I got a new printer and initially had the same problem with printing the sample file. On a whim I sliced the sample STL and increased the exposure time to 9 seconds. The printer now works, and I like the larger print bed and the air filter. I just wish Elegoo would verify that their sample files work before more people get frustrated. Interestingly, the sample file cannot be opened by the user for exposure adjustment. You have to start a whole new file. This did not work on the original printer. At least they sent a free bottle of resin to atone for all the hassle.

Nice Upgrade from the Mars 2 Pro
After maybe 3 years of consistent good work, my Mars 2 Pro started giving me failed print after failed print (not entirely sure why), so rather than spend time and money bothering to troubleshoot and repair it, I decided to get a newer model. I just did my first print on it, and it came out great. Using the same resin, the Mars 4 had a much smoother and more detailed print than the 2 Pro ever gave me. There was no learning curve, which was nice too. Granted I've only done one print, but if it is anything like the previous model, I'm looking forward to hundreds more great quality print jobs!

while it's on sale, grab it and run
complete beginner, we're interested in painting anything imaginable for fun and art, mostly around the size of a bottle of warpaint while occasionally big chunguses. it's really a no brainer if you want the best price on these things (even figuring paying people to make CAD files and the time, effort, and space this demands) and doing some research and work really pays off. in addition, currently Elegoo is selling their resin at a discount, we're using the v1 grey standard and on spite of it being a discounted medium, the resulting work we've gotten out of it is sturdy and shows delicate detail. printed 4 of the test chess pieces that came with the Mars. once I actually got the recommended print settings off the Elegoo website (in a byzantine pdf document, nope, can't get the settings in a reasonable place) and I set the plate right, then made sure the temp is stable and there is no chance of light hitting the machine, the results were astounding for the short time spent and the price while this is on sale. to get the models off the plate, simply pour boiling water on the back of the plate and gently wiggle it off with a razor scraper, going between pouring and scraping as needed. everything's come off with this method. my partner will have a blast painting everything we print off, this Mars sale on their printers and resin is a great way to jump into this field. UPDATE MONTHS LATER FROM PURCHASE - the help i've received from Elegoo customer support has made me confident in recommending not only this method of creating but also recommending this machine and company for starting out with resin printing. there is no going back for producing models for my partner to paint, even with the cost of materials and the hurdle of learning how to create using resin printing, the resources needed are miniscule in comparison to what it would cost to pay for sub par models that i have no hand in customizing or having the wide berth of choice available in stls i can find right now.

Another solid offering from Elegoo
Elegoo makes good machines for good prices. I don't think that there's anything outstanding about this one, but it works well and enables the printing of larger objects. The only potential downside is that the machine required objects to be sliced into Elegoo's new format. What this format adds to the 3d printing space is unclear, as is why it was needed at all. It didn't take Lychee much time to release an update that enabled printing to the GOO format, so no issue there. (Ironically this is actually very convenient for me. Having files sliced for different printers in different formats allows me to instantly determine if I've already sliced a file for that printer. a GOO file? Good to go on the Mars 4.) I've got no issue recommending this printer.
