I've been reading about using MCT oil to increase the amount of ketones available to the brain with the goal of improving cognitive function. Mary, T. Newport, M.D. explains it in her book "Alzheimer's Disease What If There Was A Cure, The Story of Ketones." I've been eating low carb/keto for two years on the advice of my cardiologist and have had great success with weight loss and am off both of the diabetes medications I was on when I started. However, I have been noticing some cognitive decline since going through chemotherapy in 2017. I check my blood ketones regularly with the Keto Mojo meter, but find my reading stays low, even after five days of water-only fasting (highest reading I got on a fast was 1.7 mmol/L.) Since reading about using MCT to increase ketones, I've built up to 6 tablespoons of this MCT oil a day. Now I regularly see reading over 2.0 mmol/L while eating (low carb/keto) every day (not fasting.) This Terra MC8T oil is just Caprylic Acid (from what I can tell, I don't have a lab to test is personally) which is the best MCT for improving cognitive function. I am noticing an improvement (better scores on Lumosity games, less anxiety when driving in heavy traffic, less trouble finding words, etc.) I am interested in seeing what my neurologist says the next time I go in for an appointment. I put 6 tablespoons in a small glass bottle and make sure I've used it up by the end of the day, spreading it out over the course of the day so my brain gets a steady stream of ketones. I blend some in my morning coffee, use it to dress salads, and drizzle over vegetables. I've mostly just replaced other fats in my diet with this oil, but from what I've read, it seems like Caprylic Acid isn't digested the same way as other fats so that might also factor in to why I can ingest 600 calories of oil a day and not gain weight. Alzheimer's runs on both sides of my family, so this chemo-related glimpse into cognitive decline has me scared. I'm going to keep taking MCT oil every day until Ketone Esters are available for a reasonable price, but am likely to keep using the MCT oil anyway. This oil is clear, tasteless, and thin. I can drink it straight if I find I have some of my portion left at the end of the day. I didn't have any digestive issues when starting to use MCT oil, but I hear that some people do, so the suggestion is to build up slowly.

Life changing doesn't even describe how good this is. I have ALWAYS had difficulty in the mornings as far as waking up and being aware early in the mornings. I'd drink a pot of coffee before work and still be tired. Got this and mixed a tbsp with another tbsp of butter into my coffee (only a cup instead of 12) and it was like a cloud was lifted. I had so much energy and felt ready to take on the world. Also controlled my appetite for a few hours after - felt full and satisfied, and... healthy. Will be part of my morning routine for the foreseeable future. Great product.

Great quality C8 oil. To be honest, I don't notice a difference between brands of MCT oil, and I've tried quite a few including the most expensive original brand. This is pure C8, which is what you want, and its at the best price.Also - I had an issue with the cap being damaged during shipping and the company immediately sent me a replacement! Great service in addition to the best price and great quality.

This product does not have a taste, so that is good. I find that only 1 drop is needed daily. I noticed it did curb my appetite. I am 127 lbs. but was climbing to 130. I am back down to 127 in only a week. If you take too much of this product at once, you will notice what happens similarly to eating alot of coconut. You can possibly have diarrhea. It does not last all day or anything, but it may warrant 2 immediate trips to bathroom. I am glad I purchased. I have more energy. I feel better. I am also doing without soy and gluten so with all this at the same time, I am feeling great. I like it.

I have being using MCT oil for about a week so it may be a little too soon to give an accurate assessment of the product. I can say that it is tasteless but I can’t attest to the effectiveness yet.I do like the fact that free keto test strips were included. And I will most likely make another purchase.I think that the packaging can be improved. The bottle was placed inside a plastic bag in case the oil spilled.....which it did! The cap was damaged; most likely due to the handling. Additional packaging would have prevented this.

Update: Still love this product. However, the bottle I just ordered was supposed to come with Keto Strips but there weren’t any received.This MCT Oil is great! The quality and the price are what attracted me to it. I’ve tried the other C8 MCT’s and they are good but the price can be a hinderance with some brands, especially since this is a DAILY supplement for me. Thanks Terraformulations for bringing a high quality C8 MCT at an even better price!

Update 2:Changing rating back. 'New' cap is the same.Update:Contacted by CS. They are sending me a new cap to try. Amending review for the time being...After a week of using the oil it became difficult to handle. After a month of use the outside of the bottle is completely covered in oil and there is a ring on the bottom of my cabinet. Since it's oil it doesn't just rinse off under the sink.

The product description says "Pure C8," but the label says 97-99% C8 oil. This is misleading! I think most people would agree with me that "pure" means 100%, so I don't know why the C8 content is less than that. Also, I experienced a LOT of gassiness, as well as alternating diarrhea & constipation while using this product. Whether it's the MCT oil or just one of the side effects of keto, I'm not sure. I won't buy this again.
