Great scope for the price. Perfect for rifle-length AR15s
Mounted this to my 20" AR-15. It pairs extremely well with the rifle-length barrel and full stock. It looks perfect on the rifle, but also has the perfect amount of magnification power for my purposes. I felt that a 3-9x was too much power, and a 1-4 or 1-6x was not enough, and also the 1-6x are too expensive for my budget AR15 build. To make up for the lack of a 1x magnification, I opted to add canted iron sights to the rifle. This gives me the ability to be accurate at really any range the rifle is capable of. This 2-7x is perfect, it is clear at all magnifications, and I really like the reticle. I also love the fact that it is not illuminated, my AR is already heavy enough as is, and didn't want to add unnecessary weight. I am not doing anything extreme with the rifle, and didn't need some optic that cost me same as the whole rifle did. This is a great budget scope with a clear sight picture and the right eye relief for an AR. It's a high quality scope and the best one I have personally owned. My dad has a Leupold on his hunting rifle, and while I can see the benefit and improvements, I personally can't justify spending a huge amount more on a Leupold for the slight gains in performance. For those wondering, I used UTG 1" High Profile scope mounts to mount this scope. The Medium Profile does work, but it was a bit too close to the rifle for comfort. I found it was easier to get the proper eye relief and sight picture with the High Profile mounts. With the medium, I felt like my face was jammed against my stock just to look through the scope. I will update this review with pictures of the rifle later.

Fantastic optic for the money and with a warrenty that is second to none!
Got this scope for my AR-15 and it has done really well so far. I have only put 60 rounds through it but i feel like its going to last a long time for the money you cant get a better scope. It took a while to zero it but after it zeroed it was right on the money. the sight picture is very clear for what it is and the BDC redical is nice sometimes it can be a little blurry at certain distances. But all and all great scope for the money and i have had many scopes and also looked around alot for a good scope in this price range. Also Vortex's VIP warranty is great hopefully i will never have to use it. If you dont know Vortex has a no questions asked policy where they will fix or replace your scope if broken or defective but they dont cover theft loss or intentional damage. Not really sure how they would can tell weather or not you did it on purpose but o cant imagine somebody would want to purposely abuse there scope unless your doing some sort of torture testing. But anyways Vortex is a great company and i really look forward to using this scope in the future it also looks really good as well. But to all those people in the market for a scope in this price range i would look thoroughly at different scopes and the reviews on them and see which one fits your needs best but for the money it is a fantastic optic.

Great value scope for the price.
Awesome value for the quality of the scope. Glass is clear with minimal tiniting. BDC reticle is clean and thin enough. At lowest 2x magnification there's great range of eye relief, the eye cone (eye box) is forgiving, and there is minimal edge distortion. Cranked all the way to 7x, image and reticle are still very clear, but eye relief and eye cone become more critical, and slightly more noticeable edge distortion. If this is a scope I paid $200+ for, maybe a 4 star at best. Let's be realistic here, you're not buying a more budget scope like this to strongly compete and shoot sub 1 inch groups at 100 yards with precision and clarity of picture. It is a great scope for real applications outside of serious competition. Stick it on a 200 yard hunting rifle or on a budget plinking rifle, like I did with my sub $600 AR15. It works great for very simple recreational and sporting applications. I have nothing but good things to say about this optic for this price. Construction feels solid, magnification adjustment is smooth, adjustment turrets are fine. Put it on a good mount and a good gun, and you can get some good performance out of this scope. But if you want great to excellent performance with a top quality gun, look for a higher end option. Why put Prius tires on a Ferrari?

Right in between 3 and 4 stars.
Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of Vortex Optics. I ordered this optic to place on one of my Ar builds. For the price it was just what I was looking for to hold me over for a while till the new optic I wanted was released. I also purchased the Nikon p223 mount for this optic. I mounted the optic to my rifle and took it out to the range. I was happy to find that the optic was pretty dang close to being zeroed in at 100 yards. I removed the caps and dialed in to a true center shot . It took me about 7 rounds to find the sweet spot. At 100 yards this optic is great, I used it at the 3x magnification. I then started to try out the BDC reticle and the additional zoom. I will say the BDC did work quite well. The zoom however was not the best. Up to 5x it was still pretty clear and the image was enhanced. It made my 200 yard shots pretty simple. The 6x started to get a little fuzzy around the edges but the center of the optic was still nice and crisp. At 7x the surrounding gets a bit blurry and distorted. The center is a little smaller but still pretty clean. Tho it is a bit harder to get your eye in the right relief zone. For the price this really is a great optic. It holds true after hundreds of rounds and works great for the 100-300 yard shots. Once you start to go above that and are using more magnification it starts to get a little blurry. I think I paid $125 for this optic so I am by no means complaining. In fact it is probably one of the better options at that price. If you are looking for an optic for consistent 100 yard shot groupings using a bench, this optic is great. If you are looking for something you can be a little more tactical with and need quick image acquisition I would say you need to step up to a higher end optic. Tho at this price and with the amazing customer support and warranty from vortex you really can not go wrong with it. I hope this was a helpful review in making your decision !
