Great book!

I didn't think any book about organizing would help me. I always figured action is the only way and reading was a waste of time. But man this book is awesome. It helped you organize your thought and gives you a clear direction on how to tackle the mess. For people like me who can't always stay focused this book gives great direction on what needs to be done. And believe me I am lazy and unmotivated. But this book helped a lot. I love the idea of using a throw away box and a relocate box for every room you got to. This helped me. And the rule about the countertops gave me a clear cut view of what a nice kitchen looks like. I had also bought the `simplify the holiday' book by this author to be read online. I ended up having issues and wrote the author and the bookstore. The author actually wrote me back! She was very helpful about the issue I was having too. It turned out it was the bookstore issue. But that book is awesome too. I am a Christmas diehard and just loved the book.

This book breaks things down to a manageable level so that you can actually create order and the sense of relief as you go through your home, garage, storage building, etc just keeps you wanting to move to the next space. Keep it close and handy to maintain peace and order in your life!

This book outlines a very straightforward, simple approach to organizing each room. I would definitely recommend this as a "jumping off" point to get started on the basic principles of organization of "stuff". This book does not address the underlying reasons why we get to the point of needing help digging out from under clutter. I would recommend "Shed your stuff" for a more indepth look at long term attitudes towards our "stuff" and why we keep it instead of freeing up our time and energy for other things. Both of these books together make for a great combination to get your attitude toward stuff straight and your home organized.

The book is well written and has a great deal of apply-able information. It was well laid out, and could be implemented one section at a time. Any SHE (Side-tracked Home Executive) could benefit from this book.
