HyperX has some very intelligent designers and engineers. This is almost perfect for the price.
+ Comfortable + Well built + Sound quality, out of the box EQ is pretty flat. It perfectly cuts the harsh/piercing treble range, which can quickly cause listener fatigue. For my ears, it’s darn near perfect and not at all fatiguing for long sessions. They chose an inoffensive, warm sound profile that should sound good with anything you throw at it. Games, music or movies. Although, this is very subjective. If you love bass, you’ll want to EQ it. + Imaging is very good. Soundstage is above average. Angled drivers should be on every gaming headset. I have no trouble at all pinpointing exact locations in FPS. + Mic quality is very good. (Required a setting change in Windows for best performance). + Mic Monitoring on this headset is the best I've ever heard, very natural sounding with little delay. + Battery life could literally last you over a month. + USB 2.4ghz transmitter gives you the choice of USB-C or USB-A via an adapter. + Wireless range is extremely wide, bathroom trips are not an issue. + Easy to clean. + Easily get an accurate battery percentage. Tap the power button and a voice will tell you. + Ngenuity Software is very well polished and is downloaded via the Microsoft Store. + I hate background software, thankfully Ngenuity is not required. Although you should update firmware. There are some negatives; - Headset gets warm, I'm ok with this, some might not be. I prefer a headset that is easy to clean over one with cloth earpads that stays cool. - No Bluetooth. - In Windows 10/11, the Mic defaults to 16000hz. Change it to 32000hz in your Microphone Properties/Advanced tab. You’ll notice a huge increase in quality. This mic is actually very good, but if you hear people saying it sucks, it’s because the default setting handicaps the quality. - They use DTS X instead of Dolby Atmos for their spatial sound. It's not great, just use Windows Sonic. - DTS X driver is required for you to be able to EQ the headset. And as far as I can tell, EQ settings are not saved, the software must be running. PlayStation users be aware. (Although the stock EQ is damn near perfect to me). - No Xbox Compatibility. This is the first headset I've used where the negatives have no affect on my experience. Which is why I believe it is the best sub $200 PC gaming headset available. I have no idea how it would work with Playstation, but I'd guess it is also pretty damn good there as well. I will be using this for years to come.

Best HyperX Cloud Yet
I think that they finally made the perfect gaming headset. They have always been the best in class regarding sound quality at this price point. The multiple iterations of the Cloud have largely been the company slowly addressing points of failure and upgrading things like its connectivity and surround-sound software. In the original Clouds, the hinge that attached the earcup to the headphone band was external and held in place by a cheap plastic piece that eventually just cracked over time regardless of how careful you were. This was the most common point of failure, so they changed it. The Cloud 2 had the first internal hinge on the earcup and it solved the problem perfectly. Unfortunately, it merely moved the common failure point up the headband to the cheap plastic cuff that they used to secure the metal forks to the rest of the headband. In the Cloud 2, this plastic cuff would eventually break even with very careful treatment due to the torque that is placed on it so that the earcups conform to people's heads. In the Cloud 3, they finally got it right: Internal cup hinges with a metal cuff to attach the ear forks. Perfect. I keep examining these for the next probable point of failure and I really can't think of any. So, now you can get some of the best sound in the industry in a tank-like package that should last ages. They finally ditched the foam pop filter, which I never had a problem with but might degrade over time. The new mic is still decent but probably not the best sound quality in comparison to some competitors. Probably one of the coolest things that I did not expect was that the receiver dongle comes with an extension that allows for either USB-C or USB connectivity. If I were to wager, this is the most likely point of failure if you use this with a laptop or are taking the dongle out frequently because it is a little delicate and long with the USB-A attachment on. It is a really cool feature that expands the headset's compatibility with recently released laptops with only USB-C ports.

Comfortable and useful
I used the Cloud 2 for a long time and now after switching to the Cloud 3 Wireless it honestly feels like they just fixed everything that bothered me before. Comfort is the first thing you notice, the ear pads are softer, it doesn’t squeeze your head, and I can keep it on for hours without feeling tired. The sound is cleaner too, footsteps and small details in games are easier to pick out and the bass is strong without turning muddy like the Cloud 2 sometimes did. The mic is clearer, my friends on Discord noticed right away. Battery life is great, I only charge it every couple of days and the wireless connection never dropped or lagged for me. Build quality feels solid with the metal frame and the headset doesn’t feel cheap at all. Only small downside is the dongle being a bit big, and switching devices isn’t super smooth. The mic still isn’t studio level but it’s completely fine for gaming. Overall, coming from the Cloud 2, this feels like a straight upgrade in comfort, sound and battery. It’s just a really good headset to use every day.

Wireless Wizardry
Ever felt like your gaming headset is holding you back with tangled wires and battery anxiety? The HyperX Cloud III Wireless is here to unleash your inner gaming wizard! With up to 120-hour battery life, I can conquer entire virtual kingdoms without having to recharge every hour. The 2.4GHz wireless connection is as stable as my focus during boss fights, and DTS Spatial Audio makes me feel like I’m right in the heart of the action – even when I’m just battling laundry piles. The memory foam ear cushions are like clouds for my ears, ensuring comfort during marathon gaming sessions that last longer than a quest for the Holy Grail. The durable frame withstands my enthusiastic headbanging, and the 10mm microphone captures my triumphant victory cries (or my occasional rage quits) crystal clear. However, the headset does occasionally feel like it’s trying to steal the spotlight with its sleek black design, making my gaming setup look too professional for my actual skills. But hey, at least my friends can hear me loud and clear when I’m calling them to join the next raid. Overall, the HyperX Cloud III Wireless is a game-changer, providing top-notch sound quality, comfort, and durability. It’s a must-have for any serious gamer looking to elevate their gameplay. A solid 5-star rating for turning gaming into an epic adventure, with a tiny star lost to my tendency to get lost in the virtual world.

Great headset, a few negatives though
Amazing headset. Battery life is crazy long, with light gaming I can go without charging for weeks. I don’t have any connection issues, I power on the headset and it connects automatically within a couple seconds. Microphone quality is the best of any headset mic I’ve heard. I’ve had the headset for about a year and it has still held up, it’s quite durable. There is some software you can download for the headset called “HyperX Ngenuity” to tweak the EQ to get more bass and to enable some Spatial Audio settings. It’s not the best software for consistent audio as sometimes there’s no output from it. The only other downside is the weight. It’s quite heavy as when you look down the headset comes of your head. Other than that no complaints.

Sound quality lackluster, SUPER tight and uncomfortable after a few hours.
I have a pair of HyperX Cloud Flights that are pushing 5 years old and are starting to have battery capacity issues, so I wanted to upgrade. I wanted to stick with the same brand, but for the cost I'm not seeing the value in these. The DTS Spatial Sound feature seems like more of a gimmick than anything else, and causes things to sound like an echo in an empty room. I played around with the equalizer options in HyperX's Ngenuity software, but didn't notice much of a difference aside from a bit more bass or a bit more treble. But more importantly than that, these things are absolutely crushing my head. The earcups feel very soft, but the headband is causing them squeeze very tightly which, after some hours of wear causes terrible headaches - I thought I was starting to get an ear infection from how these things were making me feel. The microphone is so-so; I found myself getting noise gated by Discord more often than I used to, so I needed to turn off auto-detect and set a manual noise cancel level. I'm not sure why that would happen, but it does. The sound quality is honestly less than I would expect from large closed headphones like this... I can't really achieve booming sound, and they're quieter than I anticipated. Lows are especially underwhelming. To be fair the battery is substantial, and looks like it would go a solid week of heavy gaming between needing charges. It's plug and play, but if you want to try the fancy spatial sound stuff you'll need to install Ngenuity. If you aren't as sensitive to tightness on your head these might work for you, but they're killing me after just a couple of days and I need to find something else.

Just buy them!
I am a HyperX fan. They make great quality and long lasting products. Ive tried out different headsets before (even ear buds) and i always come back to hyperX. The sound and noise cancellation are perfect. Its a plug and play so no need to install anything. The battery lasts a long time. As someone who occasionally will game for long hours this headset holds up. The mic is iffy but what headset mic is actually good. I use the hyperX quad cast as my standalone mic so i dont need to use the included mic but the times i have used it like when i play on my ps5 i get no complaints for the quality. The headset itself is a bit heavy so just know you will get the notorious headset dent. Other than that absolutely zero complaints.

Lightweight wireless version of already good headphones.
I had an old wired gaming headset that I used for work because it was what was available at the time. After a marathon week of spending 6-8 hours a day on meetings, my ears hurt so bad from being cooped up in headphones that moving air hurt, and I developed a tic when moving in my chair from having to avoid getting the wire hooked on something, so I bought these to replace them. Out of the box, I charged them quickly and put the dongle on the laptop, and it instantly connected. The sound quality is fantastic; possibly overkill for my usage, but they may find their way to that rare instance when I can also play a game with them on. I started the day with two hours of meetings straight and noticed that they didn't cause the heat buildup like the previous ones did. They are very lightweight and have the feel of a higher-quality set of headphones. The boom microphone is detachable if I want to just listen to music and when it is plugged in, only picks up my voice and not the noises that everything in the house makes the second you join an online meeting. So far, these are winners and I'll be happy to not have those red rings around my ears after spending my life listening to things that should have been in an email instead.

Amazing!
As a regular CS2 player, I’m always on the lookout for gear that gives me a competitive edge, and the HyperX Cloud III Wireless headset delivers in more ways than one. Right out of the box, the build quality feels premium, with a sleek black-and-red design and a durable yet lightweight frame. After several hours of gameplay, I can confidently say this headset is a solid choice for FPS enthusiasts. ### Sound Quality The 53mm angled drivers make a noticeable difference in CS2, where sound positioning is critical. Footstep audio is crisp and easy to pinpoint, giving me a clear advantage in clutch moments. The bass is deep enough to make gunfire and explosions immersive but not so overpowering that it drowns out the mids and highs. The balanced sound profile is perfect for competitive gaming, where every detail counts. ### Comfort The memory foam ear cushions are an absolute game-changer. Even during marathon CS2 sessions, the headset stays comfortable with no pressure or fatigue. The adjustable headband also ensures a snug fit without being too tight, which is a huge plus for long play sessions. ### Microphone The 10mm detachable microphone is another highlight. My teammates have commented on how clear my callouts are, with no distortion or background noise. The mic’s quality makes it perfect for tactical communication, which is crucial in CS2 matches. ### Battery and Connectivity The 120-hour battery life is no joke. I’ve gone several days of heavy use without needing to charge, and the 2.4GHz wireless connection is flawless—no noticeable latency or dropouts, which is essential in a fast-paced game like CS2. The range is also impressive; I can grab a drink from the kitchen without losing the connection. ### Drawbacks If I had to nitpick, the headset’s sound signature might not appeal to audiophiles who prefer a more neutral profile for music, but that’s not its primary purpose. Additionally, while the wireless connection is solid, I wish there was a wired option as a backup, just in case. ### Verdict For CS2 players, the HyperX Cloud III Wireless checks all the boxes: excellent sound positioning, all-day comfort, reliable connectivity, and an outstanding microphone. It’s a headset built with competitive gamers in mind, and it shows. While it might not replace a studio headset for music, it excels at what it’s designed to do—give you the edge in your favorite games.
