After a fair amount of back and forth on whether to get a furby, or a Rizmo, or a different robodog, I came across the Mintid Dog E. My son loves it. Firstly it's very cute, secondly it's got enough features to keep him entertained. The addition of the app is brilliant and he spent quite a lot of Christmas day writing us messages that were shown on the tail wag. Charge lasts well and the various modes of play are clever. Bought for my 6 year old son, but my 8 year old is equally as interested in it. Also love that you can have multiple dog profiles in one dog which adds a extra level of interest for kids.

This robot dog does make a great gift. My daughter has enjoyed playing with it and although you can turn doen the noise of the robot dog the mechanical tail wagging is very loud and nothing can be done about this.***IMPORTANT for Android phone and tablet users***To get the most out of the robot dog you need to download the app on a phone or a tablet which lets you interact with it in lots of fun ways.We had a major issue when we first set up the robot dog once we downloaded the app.You MUST have a device running Android 13 or below (or an iphone) in order to do the firmware update on the robot dog that allows you to run the app and connect to the robot dog on an Android 14 device!This proved very difficult for us! Android 14 was released in October 2023 and our phones/tablets were updated straight away meaning when I bought this in November and my daughter opened it on Christmas morning we could not use the app or connect the robot dog to the app as all our devices were running Android 14!We had no devices on Android 13 therefore this robot dog was useless and could not be fully made use of.I have no idea why they don't just send them out with the latest firmware, it's ridiculous!After one very upset child, we called family and neighbours we finally found someone with a compatible device.I ran the robot dog over, managed to do the firmware update after they downloaded the app and was then able to connect to the robot dog using an Android 14 device.What an absolute palaver for something that seemed so very simple.There is nothing on the page about this. You will not know until you download and open the app and the message pops up.I hope this helps!

The media could not be loaded. Just opened for my grandson birthday and looks like has a fault making lots of noise but not running.Can't give any star's to be honest because dog has a fault probably manufactures...

My kids love this, very entertaining and to be fair a good alternative to a real dog. It walks likes to be stroked and even signs that it has had a poop on the led on its tail. I was very impressed with this dog and definitely would say it was value for money for what it does. Easy enough to connect to the iPad so you can do games and interact with it. Battery life good and is charged by a usb which doesn’t take long.
