I found this product to be perfect for my use.

I have a Bells of Steel cable machine, and for a few exercises, I decided to get a couple extensions to improve range of motion and maybe add a couple more moves. I chose these based on price and not seeing any major complaints in the reviews. For my needs, they've been great. So far, I've used them up to 60 pounds and done lots of reps with them, and that extra 10 inches really helps with some exercises. They had no weird smells, and they attach via pretty much any carabiner. So far, they're not peeling or having any issues. If anything changes, I'll edit this review, but I've been quite happy with them, and they've added more variety to my workouts.
