Crochet Step by Step: More Than 100 Techniques and Crochet Patterns with 20 Easy Projects

This book is amazing lots of diagrams lots of step-by-step descriptions some projects. As someone who started crocheting later in life after I retired this book has so many helpful things for me personally. Sometimes watching YouTube is great. That is very hard to see up close what the tutorial was trying to show you. If you’re on the fence by the book, you won’t regret it in my view.

This is the best crochet book I’ve ever found! It is full of detailed information with the beginner stitches to much more detailed stitches. I’m a very visual learner so this book is perfect for me. I do learn best by watching so I do still look at videos for some stitches, but that’s just my learning style and I sometimes need a video even with a very great set of pictures and directions. I can say I don’t need any other crochet book except my book of crochet lace trims. I would definitely recommend this book to learn crochet.

This is a really great book for those learning to crochet on their own. It's well laid out with chapters on equipment, yarn and techniques followed up with appropriate projects. Documented with both pictures, illustrations and descriptions this book is one I recommend.

Some of the crochet books for beginners are really hard to follow and their pictures really don't plainly show what a beginner needs to see, but this book has great pictures and it's easy to see where the hook is supposed to go. Nothing is vague or questionable about the pictures in this book. It shows several different stitches and has some nice, pretty projects to get you started. I highly recommend this book.

This book is great for beginners! I was able to crochet this little sample piece after about 2 hours reading and practice. Clear instructions with detailed and labeled pictures. Does a great job explaining the tools needed and abbreviations used in patterns. A great purchase for someone wishing to teach themselves to crochet!

Just arrived and started to read. The print is very small and light. I am only 48 years old and my eyesight is beginning to change but I would imagine anyone older than I would struggle to read this book. I cannot evaluate more of this book yet.

I haven't crocheted since I was a kid and I've mostly forgotten everything except maybe the basic chain stitch. I just now received this book and have only flipped through it but the color step by step photos already have me excited to start again. The step by step photos are helpful (like having a teacher next to you) but there is also pattern reading information for other crochet patterns I've purchased but was clueless what the symbols meant. I already see stitches that I've never used but can't wait to try - even wire crochet and plastic strip crochet, who knew? I really think this is going to be a good book for me. I only wish Grammy Ridenour was here to see that I picked up her love of crochet again after all these years.

This is Cynthia Jac's wife. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. Well, I love the big, colorful, crisp, and clear photos they have provided for each step. The step by step instructional text is written very clear, clean, and simple. The combination together of the vivid photos and the step by step instructions are priceless. Great instructional book on Crochet.
