F1 2011™ Be The Driver, Live the Life, Go Compete Review: Does exactly as it says on the box - Codemasters have been pioneering driving games for some time now and this F1 title is yet another fine example of how it's done. Being a tad old school I find myself wanting to play the game the way I like and found the aids and settings simple and easy to use. Perhaps not everyone's cuppa tea but the way I see it they have managed to mix Simulation with Arcade features well which is no mean feat. Online the Live system takes some getting used to if you've never used it before but being an Xbox user it is straight forward and makes joining friends online simple the way it should be. My favorite feature is the Co-op Career giving you all the thrills of the game with one other friend, it also tracks your progress so returning to the game where you left off is superb. I had read many other reviews and have to agree that the parts during the game like the interviews, and loading times are not the best but I personally found it not to impact on what is a fantastic driving sim and given a chance will make a great addition to anyone's game collection. Graphics 9/10 Sounds 8/10 - In car comments can become tedious although at times work perfectly to give you some tense moments of pressure Until the next season/version this is the best F1 to date Review: Excellent - If you like driving and driving games, you'll love this. I'm not a particular fan of F1, but the thrill of trying to get an F1 car round a track as fast as you can with no assists is amazing. The dynamic weather works well, giving you a feeling that you're racing rather more in the real world than in a game like Forza 4. To get the most out of the game you're really, really going to need a wheel. Luckily the Microsoft Speed Wheel I have is cheap, and works well with the game. It definitely makes it far easier to control throttle and brakes. Steering is of course much more intuitive and sensitive. AI is excellent. Easy is easy to beat, but harder skill levels are really fast and intelligent. Great stuff. Weirdly drivers tend to be much faster in practice than qualifying, which I don't think reflects real life. The only downside I can think of is the slightly cheesy and irritating career "interviews" after races. A tv reporter asks you various questions to which you can give one of three or four set answers. I think it's meant to help develop your career in some way. Not sure.

Great game
F1 2011 is certainly a great game, the role play of the 2010 version has continued in the game and has got better in my mind. For example interviews with David Croft, and him standing infront of the player. Even though I enjoy playing it there is some things I would like Codemasters to implement in their next versions of the game. This is just my opinion: Constructive commentary through every single race, would be excellent. A simulation mode where the user could set up their own race. Again constructive commentary. This was in earlier versions of F1 games such as 2003/04/05. The user isn't in the race but could watch it unfold. Possibility of drivers in the career mode moving teams as well, keeping with reality. (Possibility of new drivers joining the sport; like from GP2/GP3) Maybe this is too creative and complex but these two top points in the game would make me give this a stronger 5 stars.

F1 2011 for pc
Arrived a day early less than 24 hours from order time 10/10 there know to the game loads quick for a Windows Live Game look's great I have a good gaming RIG but this game doesn't play smoothly straight out of the box unless you have a super computer your have to disconnect the instant replay playback which when able the game is very laggly but otherwise its an OK purchase at this price

If you like F1...
There isn't much to say about this really, if you like F1 and racing games then this is a very good game. It's a lot of fun with friends and if you whack the difficulty up it is pretty damn hard as well! I play using an xbox 360 controller and that is definitely recommended over keys! Thought tbh if you're buying this you'll either have a controller or a steering wheel so nevermind. No splitscreen on one PC was an annoyance I found out about the other day when my friend was round, I play this game with him online quite often and we really fancied some splitscreen banter on the projector but it's just not there! Summary: The best F1 racing game you can get, which might not be saying all that much but it is very good still :)

Mixed impressions, but a solid game in all.
I did much deliberating over whether to buy this game or not, basically if its codemasters and isn't one of their mainstream games then it could (as it has been in the past) be limited or buggy or basically broke. BUT suprisingly it isn't, no doubt down to a mix the 3DS version being used as an alpha test and Sumo Digital and their expertise in portable games (one of many contributing developers of LBP vita). Design - essentially in its features this vita version is more like a refined F1 2010 rather than 2011, it features everything except the press interviews, flashback ability and MP is limited to 4 players. Pitstops, stategies, choosing your team, and all the modes of F1 as we know it are present including KERS and DRS, in addition to the vita version are challenges which seem like a DiRT inspired manner of breaking up what is still rather a hardcore racing sports game. Challenges work well enough helping to break up the experience and feature different scenarios such as unique pit stop stategies and head to heads with other race driver AIs. Gameplay - Its relatively similar to consoles, though there is some slight handicapping in relation to speed and handling, a problem quickly found at the start is that the assist options do nothing but destroy any sense of handling, but they can be turned off and you'll be nailing apexs with a bit of experience in no time. AI was a major problem in the 3DS and luckily it is much improved, however I myself set it to the max to get any challenge at all, AI seem to possess individual traits and some will perform better than others on different tracks, but there is still a slight craving for a harder difficulty as some tracks like monaco AI lag in lap times by about 10 seconds on max difficulty (qualifying + race session), although on melbourne that gap is less than a second, so there are some inequalities (don't know whether they have patched though). Overall you will be getting some challenge but beware that %50 comes from the endurance factor, and most the assists off (I do race on automatic). Graphics - the most contreversal of all because its hardly setting all cylinders ablaze, I came from wipeout 2048 to this and its a dramatic drop. The game has a lack of shaders and special effects which refrain it from looking beautiful, also car models have a lack of antistophic flitering meaning that livery details are not that crisp. However it does go to show that even 'limited development time' build can still be pretty substantial as the vita's quad core and RAM easily see to impressive draw distances, no jagged edges, mostly sharp clean textured tracks and most of all a smooth FPS, even with 23 cars in front. no bugs or glitches, no load time issues. There is some attention to detail such as modeled pitstops, cockpits, tyres actually looking wet, or filthy if you go on to gravel. Overall if you want a F1 game on the go, you want that core racing experience (and remember that this is the only true racing game on the vita currently) then this is good enough for the price, no you won't find groundbreaking graphics or anything distinctively added to the career experience, but it does contain that racing spirit. If on the other hand you want to experience F1 in full glory for the first time, then F1 2012 on the consoles may be better. **1 note: F1 in general vita and consoles have the option to race in 3 lap sessions rather than the full 2 hour average, however 3 lap sessions make much of what makes F1, pitstops and qualifying pointless, so F1 in general is for the hardcore racing fans.

still the best one in the series
I still like this one the best, even after having played 2012 and 2013. It fixed the only significant problem I had with the first game; the constant screen freeze. It also made the first-person experience feel more immersive and authentic; fx in how the vehicle vibrates and shakes on the track. The later games are lacking in this and therefore don't feel as authentic to me as 2011 does. The game allows the user to fine-tune the difficulty by offering many AI-difficulty options, the later games don't offer the same range. I also prefer the physics in this game over the others, it plays like an arcade-sim hybrid, which is what Codemasters do best. Because of these things I consider this the best F1 game by Codemasters.

Buen juego, precio elevado
