it did the job perfectly,
used the VEVOR Coil Spring Compressor Tool on my 2018 BMW X3, and honestly it worked great. The tool feels solid and heavy-duty, and it held the springs really well. Super easy and safe to use, no issues at all. The case it comes with is also nice and keeps everything organized. Overall,

Great tool, worked excellent for my shock replacement work
A very excellent tool, complete. Very safe to use, iI never felt in danger, the spring C clamps have plastic shield if needed. I removed them because there was interference on my shock shaft cover. There is a keeper tab on each C clamp that provides a "catch" so the compressed spring cannot get over that lip. The spring compressor worked smoothly. I took the pre-emptive precaution of spraying the compressor threaded rod with lithium lubricant, as well as spraying into the shaft ends so everything worked as smoothly as possible. I did NOT use a impact wrench! I used a 1/2 inch drive with a socket. By hand it does not take much time to compress a spring an inch so the shock can be disassembled. I still have to do the front end of my SUV, the rears are complete and would not have been possible for me to do without a spring compressor. This save my $1000's of dollars to do the work myself.

Excellent Product
I used it on a 4x4 tundra, and it worked like a charm. It's heavier duty than I expected, and I never felt either spring move. It was difficult to compress the last bit, but a breaker bar would've made it easy.

Reporting I survived my first time dissembling rear struts
I used these to replace the top hats on my Tein coilovers. Coilovers are slightly different than traditional suspensions in terns of tension and gaps between the spring spirals. But regardless, this tool made it very safe and easy. For the price, I think it's totally worth it. Saved a trip to a shop and now I know I can put together my future suspension setup. It's the best to secure the strut with a foot on the ground and use a wrench to slowly get the claws to compress. Definitely wear eye protection, don't stand on either end of the strut, and get it done as fast as possible. The only issue I ran into was due to the tight spacing of my spring. The claws got stuck and became hard to remove the tool after the work was done on the assembly.

Works Well For Some Struts, But Not All.
Easy to use, and works well if you have a stut with a good number of coil spirals going round and round, like the rear struts on my 2004 Corolla. The problem is with struts like the front struts on the same Corolla. Those struts have the spring spiraling upwards only about 4 complete turns, so the yoke can only fit onto the two spring sections in the middle. This compressor will NOT work for that kind of spring. The yokes of different sizes fit perfectly onto the spring, but it needs to have a spring spiral section in between the two they are yoked to in order to work. When compressed to the maximum, it STILL isn't enough to disassemble the strut. I had to use the typical two-jackscrew compressors to get this spring compressed sufficiently. Also, this compressor must not be used with power or impact tools. It is not the kind of high-tensile strength metal to withstand that. Only use hand tools (22 mm or 7/8" socket/wrench). Additionally, you must lubricate the threaded rod each and every time you use it, even on each direction (compressing and then again for decompressing). I suggest spraying a penetrant lubricant like WD-40, then follow that with brush-on grease or spray-on lithium grease (easier than brushing). This is absolutely necessary. Ease of use and value are 5 stars. Sturdiness is 3 stars because impact tools can't be used. Versatility to be used with different kinds of springs is only 2-3 stars. Overall it's 4 stars because it does work well when it works. It also feels quite safe, unlike other compressors which are scary to use. I have included photo #1 of my rear strut, which this tool easily compressed, and photo #2 of my front strut which this tool can not sufficiently compress. See the difference in the springs to know if this tool will work for your application.

Worked great for F-150 Raptor Fox shock replacement
Great price on this coil spring compressor. These worked great to take the coils safely off my Fox shocks for swapping them out on my 2012 F-150 Raptor. Made the job easier for sure and seem durable enough to use daily in a shop setting. Plastic case is nice also.

Great for home or shop.
This kit is great. Works well. Easy to use. The only negative I would mention is that it lacks a tab to clamp into a vise, which would be useful for holding it while working with it. It is very awkward to use it by hand. But it is easy if you clamp it gently into a bench vise.

Works but with one fatal flaw
This tool has one fatal flaw. The spring pads or brackets or whatever you'd like to call them have a slight pitch to match that of the coil spring. This works great on coils that are wound the correct corresponding direction but makes doing the opposite side spring where the spring is wound the opposite direction more difficult than it needs to be. The brackets should either have no pitch or it should come with brackets that pitch both directions.
