NOYAFA Network Cable Tester with IP Scanner, CAT5E CAT6 Ethernet Tester

After reading the manual it is very easy to use. Great value for money and saves a lot of time with checking the connections. The cable length checking can help detect a damaged wire. The size is alright. The functionality is simple and the quality is good too. For more money you get stronger plastics but this is good and comes with a carry case too. It is fast to use.

Excellent. No earphone or leads supplied, but had additional RJ11 supplied, to be fair I couldn't see where the leads would be of use? Croc clips also came with this. Testing now so far excellent.

Only had this a short while so as it stands - a 5 from me - an update may be necessary at some point but so far it's gotten me out of a whole lotta trouble more than once with wire trace and particularly IP scan. (Functions unheard of at this price) Carried out a good amount of cable continuity testing too and to be fair it performs well... a little slow to show results but not a deal breaker. As with other reviewers I find the power on the tracing wand is sometimes already on, when the bag is opened but a piece of well-placed foam in the bag when putting it away should solve this. Display can be hard to read in sunny conditions but acceptable most of the time. Torch on the wand is definitely not as bright as the video makes out but hey, we've all got torches on our phones! Build quality is OK; I work in the security industry so can be outside at control cabinets or up ladders at WiFi links or access points so worry about dropping it (even from waist height) or getting caught in a down-pour but you have to accept that for the money the feature rich options out-way any need for it to be more robust ...perhaps a lanyard clip would be good or just be more careful with it! A better case would also have been nice and perhaps higher contrast display for those aloof sunny UK days, but overall definitely worth the money.

This a bit like a 'step up' camera. Not a point ans shoot but not quite as good as a mirrorless SLR. So it has the standard functions you get on a bargain network cable tester but also a lot more and a nice screen as well. I like the diagram when you test a cable showing exactly what is wired wrong and which end of the cable. I like the digital cable finder - works even in a big bunch of CAT5 cable. The Switch Flash is good. Not sure about the ping test. You have to set up a base IP which is time consuming. Why not het an address from the DHCP server. Best thing is that it is rechargable - no more batteries. USB-C cable and a power supply. Would seriously recomend for an occasional Network Guy.

I had high hopes for this network cable tester, hoping that the additional features would be an all in one solution for quick network troubleshooting but sadly the unit I received failed to meet those expectations. I would like to highlight some positives for the working parts of the device, notably the continuity test is quick and reliable, with easy to understand output, cable tracking works extremely well with the adjustable sensitivity making it easy to find the cable you're looking for. Switch link speed was also reliable and quick to provide an output. Port flash works well and conveniently returns port number and mac, PoE testing also functions as expected. Now for the parts that weren't so great, cable length, this is extremely unreliable on my device, there are conflicting recommended ranges, with the description stating 2.5 - 200m and the manual stating 5m - 300m. I've attempted to test a number of runs of different length and noticed a number of issues, the tester offers yards, meters or feet as units, on a number of cables, only setting the device to yards provided an output, otherwise it would error out with Cable Open or beyond range. Cables within the combined recommended range (5m - 200m) occasionally failed to provide a length regardless of setting chosen, all cables tested were tested again using TDR on switches which provided accurate length information. Lastly IP Scan and Ping, the two features I was looking forward to using, sadly these were completely unreliable due to the inability to auto obtain an IP. Whilst it is possible to set your own IP, which does allow IP scan and Ping to function, albeit not consistently, the combined issues has led me to return this tester and stick to my current setup.

Used this to find a problematic lan cable integrated into an industrial machine it clearly indicated at what distance the break in the cable was, can also be used to find POE issues and general incorrectly wired cables. Can be used to ping and scan IP addresses which I very handy. Overall I think it’s an excellent purchase and far more useful than the standard cable checking tool.

Also für eine kleine Störungssuche oder die schnelle Installationskontrolle super ! Einziger Wehrmutstropfen, für jede Art der Messung gibt es einen eigenen Anschluss, wird aber immer angeziegt wo man gerade anstecken muss. Natürlich muss man realistisch bleiben, mit Messgeräten um tausende Euro kann es nicht mit. Aber wie gesagt für eine schnelle Kontrolle unschlagbar.

Indispensable quand on se lance dans un câblage Ethernet, ça évite bien des problèmes

Apparato interessante concettualmente, ma qualità un po’ discutibile. Per prima cosa la batteria dell’unità principale non tiene la carica e si scarica subito. Funzioni interessanti ma le configurazioni per fare i test un po’ macchinose. La custodia ed accessori dotazione completi, tuttavia per il prezzo mi aspettavo qualcosa in più, soprattutto sulla durata batteria.
