Fit and Function
I'd read the Omer Alien line of masks seem to fit a variety of face shapes. I'd hoped my face would be one of them. And I can pleasantly say the Alien does fit pretty spot-on. Wide view with a silicone skirt that's not quite the softest or the stiffest; it just rests well on my face with no "mask ride-up" when clearing. Oval vs. teardrop lenses accommodate my drop-in gauge reader lenses very well. If there's any mild complaint...not a complaint per se but rather a design suggestion...is that the adjustment buckles on the mask are little of the old school type (which some may prefer). I think the micrometric buckles featured on most masks these days would've been a better choice. Plenty of masks on the market that retail higher, but if you're looking for an intro freediving/spearfishing/snorkeling mask that can also serve as a backup scuba mask, the Alien's the way to go.
