Son likes playing with this
I have a 12 year old who thinks he's 6 when it comes to bath time - he still enjoys taking a bath in the tub and playing lol so I got this for him and he loves it. I have those vacuum ziplock bags so I put the remote inside one of those and sucked the air out so now the remote is waterproof and he can play with the it in the tub without destroying the remote, even though the remote claims to be waterproof. The shark is pretty cool and moves around smoothly in the water like a shark would. He's only been playing with it for about a week now, so I guess time will tell if it holds up or not. Considering the price though, I'm a bit sceptical at how long it will last just seems a bit to inexpensive to hold up. Also, I didn't notice a rubber seal around the battery compartment of the shark itself, so this kind of concerns me that it might not be 100% waterproof. Again, time will tell and I will try to return with an update at a later time.

So fun!; Update, not anymore :(
This rc shark is so cool! It is really well made and moves like a real shark in the water. The shark comes with a rechargeable lithium battery that goes into a waterproof compartment. It seems to work really well and I have not had any issues with water leaking in. The remote is also waterproof so this could be a great toy to bring to the pool. The remote required 2 AA batteries. It is super easy to learn how to use; you simply press the power button on the remote and it will start flashing a red light. You can then place your shark in the water and the remote will stop blinking meaning it is ready to go. The shark has two propellers and each joystick on the remote individually controls each side. Pushing the joystick up makes the corresponding side go forward and pushing it back puts it in reverse mode. If you push both joysticks up or down, you can move the shark forward or backward in a straight line. Alternating the movements makes the shark swivel back and forth like a real shark does! The body of the shark is made of lightweight, sturdy plastic. It is painted fairly well although there are very few details on the eyes. I personally do not like the shark logo painted on the body and would have preferred a removable sticker. It moves pretty fast but since it is lightweight, does not work well in very rough waters. Very interesting toy so far, would recommend!UPDATE:So after about a week of very light use, it has stopped working. The first time i thought the battery was out of juice but when i took it out of the waterproof compartment, i noticed it was slightly moist. I tried everything off, recharged the battery, and sealed it back making sure the screws were in tight. I went to use it the next day and it ran for less than a minute before it stopped working again. Again, the battery in the compartment was moist. This means the waterproof battery compartment is not truly water proof and it worries me a little to have a working battery in contact with water. Maybe place a rubber seal in the inner battery compartment to make it truly water tight.
