Are they 4 oz. as stated above or 6 oz. as one reviewer stated?

Yes, you can fit 6oz into it, but it would go all the way up to the top. 4 oz is just below the little lip. Just for your information, the height is 2", and the width is 3 3/4"

Yes, they are stackable, but keep in mind that they are porcelain and very fragile and easily chipped. I bought 12. They came in a small rectangular box that stores easily. I have each one wrapped separately in bubble wrap. I would not recommend stacking them.

Length of heart-shaped ramekins (l (center) x w (3.75") x h (2")? how much batter will one take, 1/4 or 1/2 cup?

I tried to measure it but only have water. I think 1/2 cup is too much. but definitely will hold 1/4 cup maybe a little more. A more solid food such as the coeur la creme mixture is not thin.The holes in the bottom allow the Coeur mixture to drain overnight. Unless you are trying to use them for something else.I wrap the Creme mixture in cheesecloth before molding. Still drain well. A quarter of cup is not a small serving with this "rich" desert.

What are the dimensions of just 1? (Description has to be for the pkg'd set)

Mine came as a set... They are very tiny. About 1/2 deep and maybe 2" by 1.5"... Think big enough for a single hand dipped chocolate strawberry. They are very good quality, but very small :)
