Wileyfox Spark + 5 Inch HD SIM-Free Smartphone with Android Nougat 7.0 (2 GB RAM, 13 MP Camera, Dual SIM 4G) - Black

When I first switched this phone on there was a spoken tutorial that went on for several pages. The tutorial indicated that 2 fingers were needed to swipe, and apps should be tapped twice. Unfortunately this didn't seem to happen, I would have to swipe at least 6 times to unlock the phone, then select the appropriate app and tap at least twice, usually much more. I couldn't swipe to the second home page, and in the apps menu I couldn't get beyond the first page (letters A-D), so couldn't open most of my apps. I tried over and over again, with constant talk back from the phone telling me what I was doing. It drove me mad, I couldn't figure out how to turn off the voice, this went on for several days and I was getting really frustrated, especially when typing a message as she repeated every letter stroke; TWICE. I couldn't afford to not use the phone, and I really needed a replacement for my old one. Also, I tried 3 different unlocked sim cards in it, but I always received a message asking for a code. In the end I had to put the sim into another phone and set up a pin code to unlock it.By day 6 I was really fed up with not being able to carry out normal procedures on the phone, but thought I would have one last go at it, and forsome reason I managed to get into my apps and scroll down to settings, from there I was able to turn off the voice, and voilà everything else just fell into place. I can swipe with one finger, only need to tap once on any icon and no more voice back. I love the phone, although a a little larger than my Samsung SIII mini, I can still carry it in my pocket. It imported all my information from my previous phone, even when signing into wifi in public places, without me having to input the code again. The battery lasts about 36 hours, but I live in an area where it is difficult to get a signal, so could last longer in other areas.I don't take a lot of pictures on my phone, but I have tried it out and am very happy with the quality. The ring tone can be turned up quite high which is a bonus. Despite all the problems I had getting started I really love this phone.

Bought as a Christmas present for my son, for which he contributed weeks of pocket money. He wanted to support a British company. He loved the phone for the first six weeks but since then it has refused to charge. The phone reboots continually when connected to the charger. The Amazon order states that 'the return window is closed' after the end of January.I have sent a number of emails to Wileyfox, all of which have been ignored. Zero customer service. I have since found out in online forums that this is not an uncommon fault. I suggest you steer clear of Wileyfox as you could be left with a very expensive paper weight.

beware - ERROR 495 - prevents you from updating any apps on play store. The default GOOGLE apps wont update. phone itself is fine, and great speed and quality for the price.also the phone prefers fast micro SD cards - Class 4 are deemed to be too slowdowner was I paid £119.99 for it last week (Sep 2016), and now its £20 cheaper.

OK – let’s start with the good points first. The Spark+ is well-specced for the price (especially on the deal I got, which priced it below the RRP of the lower-specced Spark), supports dual SIMs, has a removable battery (a rarity these days), and the most unique selling point is it runs the excellent Cyanogen operating system, which is basically a more customisable version of Android (so it runs all Android apps). This was my first Android-based phone (I was previously on Windows), so I can't comment on how it performs vs the competition, but from what I've read its performance is about what you'd expect from a mid-range phone. I've certainly had no cause for complaint in daily use - it's responsive, takes decent photos, and runs basic games absolutely fine. So far so good.Unfortunately now we have to move on to the elephant in the room. The phone's biggest selling point, the Cyanogen OS, has just been discontinued. That's right, as of the end of 2016, there will be no future updates whatsoever, as the company that maintains the OS is dropping it. Wileyfox have issued a statement that they will continue to support their phones by migrating them to standard Android, but they've not given any timescale for the migration, and in moving away from Cyanogen, the phone has lost a lot of what made it good. Plus if you buy a Wileyfox phone now, you're taking a gamble on future support.That's not the only issue either. One of the main selling points for me was the Spark’s replaceable battery. I normally keep my phones for 2-3 years, and tend to find that the performance of the original battery starts to degrade significantly after the first year. This means that a phone with a fixed battery won’t last the distance, which rules out most mid-range phones for me. Unfortunately, having foolishly assumed that because you could replace the battery, replacements were actually available, so far this has proved not to be the case. I queried this with Wileyfox, and their one-line response was to direct me to the pre-order page on Amazon, that gave no indication of the availability date. So that's another selling point scratched off the list, especially as battery life is not great to start with.The other annoyance I've come across so far is that because this is a relatively small company and a relatively low-volume product, accessories for it are hard to come by. Ignoring Wileyfox's own-brand cover (which as far as I can tell is next to useless because it provides barely any screen protection), I've found only one other company selling them, so unless one of their very limited selection suits you, you're stuck with generic covers that don't fit the phone properly and don't have a cut-out for the camera.Overall then, it's just an OK phone, not a great one, and with a number of issues that may or may not get better over time. If you get a good enough deal on it (I suspect there will be a few, given the OS issues), can live with a basic case, and are willing to take the risk that it might not get software updates, then it should be fine as long as you just want a phone for calls, odd photos, web browsing, and occasional gaming.However, if it’s priced closer to its RRP, and a replaceable battery (hopefully!) and dual SIMs aren’t high on your shopping list, then you may be better off going for a more mainstream phone like the Moto G4, which is a bit more expensive but appears to be better in all respects other than the above.I suspect I’ll update my rating after a few months, based on whether any of the reliability issues reported for Wileyfox products start emerging (nothing so far), if the manufacturer comes good on its promise to provide SW updates, and whether batteries and a better range of accessories become available.

I am really happy with this phone. I was coming from using a Blackberry Q10, having had pretty 'top of the range' phones before that. I was after a phone that did the basics well, lasted for more than 1 day on battery and didn't cost the Earth.I have had this for a couple of months now and, although I do miss the keys on my Blackberry, I like the phone very much. Good screen, good browser. Doesn't keep forever asking me to perform updates like some of my previous phones. The main things that I have noticed as not-so-good is the camera - it does the job, but it is a little noisy, a little slow and the pictures are not as good as my Q10.The battery life is pretty good - 2 days with pretty heavy use. The alarm has never let me down. The email, messaging and other pre-installed applications are very good at what they do. I have liked being able to fully customise the theme of the phone including the fonts, and find the touchscreen pretty good considering I was really dreading using one.It's a rather nice looking phone, the texture of the backing is hard to describe, quite matt, and the fox icon and little metallic touches work really well. It looks good quality, and a few people have commented that it's a nice looking phone. It's thin and light too.

I bought a Blu LifeMark phone a little while ago which I was less than impressed with. Then bought a Wileyfax Swift, which was OK. I needed another basic android phone, so went for this WileyFox Spark+.As the 'new' Blu phone arrived looking like it had been dragged through a hedge backwards, I decided to go for a 'used' amazon warehouse WileyFox Spark+ and bought an 'as new' condition one priced about the same as the 'good' condition Swift. The 'As New' Spark+ looks a little more worn than the 'good' Swift, but whatever, the screens were unmarked on both and thats my main concern. (Both used WileyFoxes looked 'newer' than the Blu had). Arrived on time, in good condition. Box was mostly unmarked (except for a crush on one corner and the open security seal), most of the bits were there (charger lead, phone, battery) - I think the eaphones were listed as missing, so thats OK - and the phone itself looked almost 'as new'. except for a little scuffing on the backPut in the battery, sim and an SDcard and charged it up. The battery arrived with 60% charge and charged up to 100% in just under 45 minutes. Be ware though that the charge LED look different colours depending on the angle you view it at. Always check the LED head on, or you may think it amber when its actually green.Once the phone had charged I ran the setup, added my google account (I didn't add a cyanogen OS account) and let the phone update. It did one large and several small updates and ended up with Cyanogen 13.1.2 / Android 6.0.1.Setup my usual mix of Android/GooglePlay apps without any problems - and moved them to the SDcard storage to save space in the phone. Test ran several apps, again no problems.(Even though this is intended as an Xmas gift for family I always check them out, then fully reset them, before giving them to ensure they are working to avoid any 'broken present tears'. And because I enjoy playing with different electronic gadgets. Google must get annoyed seeing my account bounce around so many devices!)And, after all that updating and installing, the phone (which had grown comfortably warm to the touch from its load) still had 75% battery left.The phone feels very light compared to my HTC M8- and even lighter than the very similar spec'd Swift. The screen is good enough (not as good as the M8), as is the audio, touch response, performance. The camera is OK. Frankly, its hard to tell the difference between the Swift and Spark+, so I'd be inclined to go for whatever is the best deal at the time.Overall. I'm happy. Better than the Blu LifeMark (that cost about the same), slightly better than the Swift (Spark+ has slightly higher Geekbench 4 scores, that cost about the same), not as good as my HTC M8 (which cost twice as much).

Omg I love this phone. To pot it into context I had a decrepit Samsung S4 mini that was almost 2 years old and struggled to complete most tasks without having a complete meltdown.This phone it's only a wee bit bigger and is thin and so very very light I reckon even with a cover on it it well still feel compact but the screen is plenty big for most things.The cameras (front and rear) are great - good quality pics and selfies. The software is very easy to use-probably to do with the Android platform- user friendly. The fact this phone was such a reasonable price means I can go onto the sim only plans and save myself about 16 quid a month and this phone will have paid its way in about 9 months. No faffing about with unlocking blaa blaa.It also looks nice (white n copper model) slick and trendy! Plus what a cool name. Who ever came up with this business model and product is a genius. I hope they are very pleased. A great alternative to the expensive fruit- based devices and the Samsung models.Also super-handy to order it at 9pm and come home from work to have it through the door rest to go in lovely packaging. No farting about going to the post office or signing (like I've had with both Vodafone and O2).Well done Wiley Fox, well done.

I wouldn't recommend this phone unless you want an expensive pager with 4gI recently purchased this phone, unlike all the other comments here, I had no issues with the screen. I had a major issues with the ability of the phone itself to be a phone.The first one I received would text and use 4g/3g fine but calling was another story, it would call then hang up (by itself) after 1 minute or so.The replacement phone worked fine for the first day then day 2, the same issue happened again. It would work fine for some calls whereas others it refused to work at all. It was extremely frustrating.I really wanted to like this phone, I gave it so many chances I even tried factory resetting it, no use, evidently it wasn't an app causing it. And just to warn anyone who wants to buy a Wileyfox. The company has no customer service, I emailed them and an automated reply said we'll get back in 24 hours, 4 days have passed and no reply this is shocking from a company priding itself on selling phones built for the customers and is destroying the credibility of "buying British" items.To sum up:Good points:Good camera (front and back), decent screen quality, good microphone and fairly fast, uses cyanogen OS which is amazingBad points:Antenna in phone is rubbish (couldn't pick up a decent signal when my old Moto E 2015 could no problem), sometimes freeze because CPU over heated after about 20 minutes of use, and would drop callsI wouldn't recommend this phone

I was after a budget Android dual sim phone, after giving up on my dual sim Windows phone.Delivery was very prompt and fast. A nice touch is that the phone comes with a pre-installed screen protector.My impressions:A white phone with a matt finish on the back cover and quirky copper highlights.Screen resolution and quality is much easy to read than the Nokia screen.Cyanogen 13.0 is fine and adds extra features to restrict apps access. But no Pokemon Go access I'm told.Battery life was initially quite poor ~18hrs to 10%, but seems to have improved over time now around ~50% for the same duration.No noticeable lag when using the phone, but only time will tell.No issue switching from each sim and quite easy to use.

E' arrivato configurato con l'oramai non più supportato Cyanogen, e per ricevere gli aggiornamenti futuri l'ho aggiornato ad Android 7.L'aggiornamento ha richiesto un po' (le istruzioni sono sul sito inglese del produttore), ma adesso funziona davvero egregiamente.I materiali di costruzione sono buoni e robusti, l'assemblaggio solido.lo schermo è reattivo e veloce, così come il funzionamento delle app. E per un telefono di fascia economica scatta delle ottime foto (esempio allegato).Nella confezione vi è incluso un cavetto USB in plastica, ma non un trasformatore, ma ho comunque verificato che si ricarica benissimo con qualsiasi trasformatore compatibile.Considerato che non si tratta del solito smartphone cinese,(la Wileyfox è di Londra), e che si pone però nella stessa fascia di prezzo di molti cinafonini, mi ritengo molto soddisfatto del rapporto qualità/prezzo.Consigliato.

Il telefono come grafica si presenta buono... Ma come suono volume molto basso non lo sento mi dispiace ma il voto 1 stella

Das Wileyfox Phon ist mit dem ersten Starten komplikationslos hochgefahren. Läuft störungsfrei. Gut gefällt mir der austauschbare Akku, der nach meiner Einschätzung bei normaler Nutzung ausreichend lang hält. Bis jetzt, nach vier Wochen nichts zu bemängeln.Optisch finde ich das Gerät auch ansprechend.

El movil está muy bien. Funciona de manera fluida para las aplicaciones habituales que utilizo, si bien, no es un movil demasiado potente.Las cámaras cumplen, sin destacar en nada, pero tampoco penalizan demasiado en un uso habitual (no la uso demasiado).Lo único es que no trae adaptador de corriente, sólo cable usb-micro usb para conectarlo. Cosa que también se agradece al menos en mi caso ya que tengo demasiados cargadores.Poco más que decir, un movil recomendado para quien necesite un teléfono 4G sin grandes pretensiones a muy buen precio.
