The beam angle is the width of coverage when the unit is placed on a flat surface. When these are placed on a ceiling, they will light up the room wall to wall from side to side. No dead spots aside from maybe on the ends of the tubes.

I need 12, how many lights maximum can be connect up to 1 power lead?

Seller's answer seems inaccurate. The number of units you can hook serially depends on the power consumption. For the 4 ft tubes with over twice the power rating (44w per unit), they mention upto 4 in serial. These tubes are rated at 16w. So how can the limit be just 6?! Assuming both models use the same grade connecting cables, the math suggests you could go to 12 units per connection. Can seller please clarify if the connectors with these units are somehow different?
