I had watched it many years ago with my 2 sons. Roll on 25years & I watched it with my grandson-it was just as good!

Love this film. Funny and family film.

As a pensioner, you may find it hard to believe that I could enjoy a film of this type and style.This is the story of a new boy to the neighbourhood who initially has problems settling in but is soon taken under the wing of a gifted baseball player and his pals. They play baseball for the shear joy of the game, rarely keeping score. Losing their ball in scrap yard defended by a 'monster' of a dog is only part of the story. We watch the kids going through some of the early stage sof adolescence and you might just recognise some of the problems they faced having been a child once yourself.Now, let's think about getting the sequel!

Forget.. E.T, this is the greatest kids movie ever made... This movie encapsulates all the coolness of being a kid as well as being really funny and honest. It's like a funny version of a cross between the wonder years and stand by me... It seems stupid cuz this film really isn't exactly complex... infact it's sooo simplistic but soooo watchable... I've seen it about a million times and I still love it... If you got kids buy it for them now!!! If not buy it anyway cuz I promise unless your a heartless boring person you'll love it too! The synopsis may not even sound great but I promise you the homour and story is nailed. Best Kids film ever!!

Those who found Stand by Me cheesey to an unbearable degree would be best advised to avoid the The Sandlot. i for one, enjoyed stand by me and consider it one of the best coming of age films of all time, but if stand by me shows us how to make a good coming of age film, the sandlot shows us how to turn the cheese up just a little to much.co-writer/director David Mickey Evans borrows liberally from TV's The Wonder Years, to fashion this exaggerated slice of Americana dream pie with "That's when I learned...." clichés. Although the cast of youngsters are more than capable, the direction is a real weak point in this film and it effectively neuters any asemblance of realism in the performances.Top it all off with a wonder years- esque voice over (which sounds like the actual voice over from the wonder years!) and a wish-fulfillment, flash-forward ending that makes mature chedder seem like a triangle of the most mild dairylee, and it becomes clear that Sandlot is one of the cheesiest coming of age films out there.but sometimes we all like a bit of cheese don't we? at the end of the day this film isn't meant to be earth shattering, it's not meant to provoke responces and make us think. its just a bit of fun!

Grew up on this movie myself. Bought for my 5 & 3 yr olds boys and they love it!!! Even using some of the lines on each other at breakfast “you play ball like a gurrrrl!” Classic

I used this movie in an ESL class. I paired it with The Goonies. There is a huge amount of overlap between the two films (e.g. only the theme and storytelling, but also the phrases and grammar points being spoken).

Witzig, spannend und mit der richtigen Portion Gefühl. Heute noch so gut wie in meiner Kindheit. Klare Empfehlung für alle Fans von Filmen wie The Goonies, Stand by me, etc.

Película muy divertida sobre la amistad y el baseball. El empaque y diseño están bien, nada especial. L calidad de la imagen es buena, al igual que el sonido. Está doblada al español de Latinoamérica, y aunque se percibe que son mujeres haciendo el papel de niños, después de un rato, la película te atrapa y se vuelve irrelevante
