The Best Nest (Beginner Books)

I love reading my kids books that I love as well 🥰

My 2.5 year old read this book in school as part of a bird-themed week. After reading this book, they took a big box and decorated it like a bird house. They filled it with crinkle wrap and each got a turn playing in the bird's nest. It was one of the highlights of the year! Because my daughter enjoyed the bird week so much, I asked which books they were reading in school and her teacher recommended this one. It's one of my daughter's favorites now. She loves to hear it. I love the length--it's just enough time for her to sit and pay attention, while taking her on a full story journey. My 1.5 year old can't sit through the whole story just yet--but she's also very active during story time no matter which book we read. This has been one of my 2.5 year old daughter's favorite books since we got it a few months ago. I highly recommend it.

This book is a classic. I read it to my children when they were small and then to my grandchildren and now I bought it for Christmas for my great grandchildren. It's part of a family tradition and we loved it

This was one of my absolute favorite books as a kid. As adult when you look back at it, it is a great lesson about being happy with what you've got. Highly recommend it for any any collection. Bought it for my grandson's book collection. He's only 2 months old right now.

This book is awesome because it makes me appreciate my own house. Your home may not be perfect, but it’s filled with love and you should appreciate it. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Best book ever written! Our daughter's foster dog chewed up this book I had over her house, and I just had to buy another one!

This is a cute story with brightly colored pictures. This book teaches appreciation for what one has. Both my 1 year-old and 3 year-old love it. My only critique is it uses the word “hate” three times (the mama bird emphatically states to the papa bird how she hates their nest). The context is not serious, of course, but I realize how young children love to pick up any word they hear. I figure there is enough hatred in the world already. I simply replace “hate” for “dislike” and continue enjoying the story!

We love this book. However, I do not love that the mother bird says she hates the old nest several times. Hate is a strong word.
