Hi folks. Update: it is now Nov. 28 and I have only cleaned this tank twice. Water tests are all good. Floating log for Jellybean (my beta) & 1 snail. Have a small cleaning magnet shown in upper right of photo....works great. And Groot is pumping out even more bubbles.Original message:I haven’t had a fish tank in over 2 decades. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at so many tanks online. This BiOrb Loop has no reviews anywhere that I found, and the ones I read for his brand have been mixed. I took a leap of faith because I like the design and don’t want to do big tanks anymore. It arrived today in good shape. I rinsed everything and put it together as instructed…mostly because you cannot rush prepping this environment or you will kill whatever you put in the tank. Now, I’m at a point in the instructions where the pump will need to run 24/7 before adding the water treatments that came with the tank. After that, I’ll add the LED light and, in a day or more I’ll acclimate my fish and then release them into the tank. Easy-peazy! I’ll submit a photo once I add my fish. UPFRONT PROS: good size, the pump is QUIET, the LED light & media rock are nice, and the instructions are laid out in easy steps-thank you BiOrb! One CON I see: the opening is a 5 3/4” circle, and I had bought a rock decoration I wasn’t sure was going to fit through that space. Also, the bubble tube is below that. I had to adjust that piece a few different ways before I got it through the hole. It by no means is a deal breaker, just be aware or consider shopping for décor after you get your tank. LOL. By the way, when they tell you to keep the water level an inch below the top…do it! Otherwise, anything including your hand will cause the water to rise and displace itself right out of the top. No, I didn’t do that, but I read a review where the person blamed BiOrb for a wet mishap he had; I suspect he wasn’t following the instructions. Sorry for the novel, but I had a lot to say. 😊
