Becoming a farmer in a fantasy world was supposed to make up for Hiraku Machio's terrible previous life. However, his new life gets off to a rocky start when his reincarnation begins in a place called the Forest of Death. Although he has a new, stronger body and an all-powerful farming tool, his attempts at living an idyllic farm life are constantly interrupted by nuisances like lizardmen, dragons, and alcoholic slimes. And did we mention the beautiful vampire and angel who move in with him, or the elven refugees who just made Hiraku's forest their new home? Okay, it may not be what Hiraku's always dreamed of, but at least he's a farmer, and that's all just part of his new FARMING LIFE IN ANOTHER WORLD!

The best feel good anime in a hot minute
This was a fantastic anime. I was so excited to start it that it went out of the plastic wrap and into the blu-ray player without a second thought and, I made the correct choice. This is a fantastic feel good anime. All sorts of fun and mythical characters all gather together to make their town peaceful. It has great humor without being over the top. The English voice acting is on pointe, and the art work positively glows. The occasional cut scenes into a storybook like chibi style was charming and tastefully executed. As far as the physical details go, the case was undamaged, discs were correct, and everything was in order and delivered in perfect condition. If you’re looking for a fun, silly, good vibes anime… you can’t miss this one!

A Call to Farm
This product comes with 2 Blu Ray discs, containing 12 episodes. Available in dubbed and subbed.I recommend to any anime consumer to purchase a physical copy of any and all anime franchises you enjoy. All western anime distributors deal with limited-licensing issues which makes future access to any one particular anime via digital media, problematic.Caution: Multiple customers have reported receiving duplicate discs from their order. This is due to a factory distribution error. Be sure to check your product as soon as possible and request a refund or replacement.Per his request after his Earthly demise, our gentle soul protagonist is reborn in a fantasy world with a unique OP ability to cultivate in an otherwise inhospitable forest territory. A healthy solo start in carving out a civilized living while in a fairly dangerous environment. With a successful farming life coming along nicely, our lonely protagonist quickly finds companions in wandering monsters as well as powerful beings who just so happen to stumble across his tiny home. Before long, a community of refugees is founded, all centered around a man with a tool of incredible power. If only the noob farmer knew the full impact his little farming village has made in this fantasy world of magic and monsters.Multiple animes were launched alongside this one, centered around a slow paced, gentle content, and theme of farming/food. This one appears to be the more popular anime amongst its competitors. Be aware that farming is not as easy as anime likes to portray it to be. It’s a committed lifestyle, filled with hard labor and a fairly high chance of failure. The existence of magic in this story simply negates what most farmers have to endure to ensure a healthy crop each year. The story does something uniquely satisfying in its progression. What I mean by that is when the protagonist accomplishes something, its not ‘okay, now forget that and move on to the next thing,’ it’s a compound series of accomplishments. Example: building a house, working around that house, and later building a better house.I don’t know if there is a second season planned for this franchise at the time of this review. If there isn’t and you haven’t got your fill of this sort of storytelling, check out the following:I've Somehow Gotten Stronger When I Improved My Farm-Related Skills-or-Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill

Starts out great, but fumbles the end...
There was a lot of potential for this show and it came highl recommended. A few people compared it to one of my favorite shows (Campfire Cooking in Another World With My Absurd Skill)... After finishing the series, I will have to disagree. The show starts of pretty strong with great animation and good world building. It falters around the middle, mostly because Hiraku's relationship with Lu isn't really explored in great detail. I do understand a lot is missing compared to the source material, but going from a barely established relationship to being pregnant in 10 episodes is a very poorly executed development. The animation quality also drops quite significantly as the season progresses. I can forgive a lot of shows that have lower quality animation toward the end of the series (i.e. Restaurant in Another World), but combined with the poorly paced story, Farming Life didn't appeal to me at the end compared to the other two shows I mentioned.Maybe I missed something in the show, but as it stands, I cannot recommend this show as it is.
