My 6 y/o needed an umbrella and when I got this in....mom win! For both him and me! Haven't had any issues with open/closing and it's compact enough to fit in the side pocket of his backpack on days it is raining or supposed to rain.

This should be a decent kids’ umbrella but it’s nearly impossible for an adult to open and close. It doesn’t really lock in place when open and feels like it’s about to break any moment. Awful!

Opening and closing is difficult. As an adult, I can manage. But I bought this for my child, as I imagine many people might also be tempted to do, and it really isn’t child friendly.We’ve used it very limitedly over 5 months because it’s a bear to use, though in that time it has retained its structure (no ripping or bowing of the metal). While it’s cute and seemingly perfect for a Minecrafting kid, its poor functionality means I’ll be turning to a more trusted brand next rainy season.
