I have bought this for a friend for Christmas and since I can't be there to teach her, this book will Really help her.

All pictures are black and white. Hard to see the stitches.

I have a friend is doesn't live close and has wanted to learn how to crochet. I got her this book and some yarn and hooks as a gift. This book has really helped her learn how to crochet. She said that she really liked some of the patterns and had already completed one and was working on a second one. Great book.

This book opens by explaining the basic equipment needed to begin crochet and how to get started. Then the author teaches the reader how to read a crochet pattern, which is very helpful. Then we get into the basic crochet stitches. I liked that there were two sets of projects provided. The first set is some basic projects. So, after a little practice you can actually make something with your new found skill set. The second set of projects are slightly more advanced, but also these projects are more modern. I love seeing how these older handicrafts can adapt to the times and become more modern. I learned a lot from this book. And I think it is a really pretty book with some great photos.

Bought this for my niece for Christmas. She's 10 and really wanted to learn the art of crochet. I've been crocheting for 30+ years but am not in a position to work with her in person. She is able to understand the instructions and the photographs have proved helpful. She can still call me if she gets stymied but that's usually because she gets ahead of herself. And unlike watching videos on line she can take her book anywhere, car trips for example. I am pleased with the purchase.

Vague and confusing. No colored illustrations as advertised. This book was nothing if not frustrating and discouraging. Save yourmoney!

This is a perfect book for beginners with clear instructions, nice pictures and a good format. Oh, the projects are nice, too!

Crocheting is a craft that you can take and do just about anywhere. I really love how this book teaches you all about crocheting with illustrations and instructions. This book has some great patterns once you learn the stitches.
