I'm genuinely pleased with this purchase. I was a little apprehensive about placing the order, due to reviews I read about it '...suddenly collapsing, so keep you fingers out of the way...'. I'm here to tell you this is not an issue with the unit I received. I've tried to bump it, jar it, even shake it back and forth - the top stays where it's put, with the weight of my 15.6" laptop. I could understand if someone is attempting to lower the top with the weight of a laptop on it, that it could/would "drop" suddenly. But I have no problem raising or lowering the angle with this sitting on my lap with my laptop in place. I've been looking for a design like this for a couple years. I use a wired portable external hard drive for daily backups and I keep it installed pretty much all the time, so not to risk interrupting the scheduled backups. I needed a laptop desk with a compartment to hold this hard drive, so it goes where the laptop goes as I move my laptop from the table next to my chair over to my lap and back again. This desk works perfectly for this with it's thoughtful storage compartment. This unit is well constructed using what appears to be quality materials. An added bonus I wasn't expecting is that my laptop does not slide around on the wooden top like it did on my former plastic laptop desk. - The box appears to be constructed of all wood or wood products. - The storage compartment is plenty roomy at just over 1/2 of the entire interior. - The hidable mouse pad is strong and is covered with a fabric that allows the mouse to glide effortlessly. When extended to the max, it does angle downward ever-so-slightly. - The foam covered wrist pad is firmly attached however, if using this desk at any of the angled positions, it really doesn't come into play much. I use this set at it's lowest raised level and my wrists barely touch the pad. If I close the lid, the wrist pad is perfect for me, but I keep the box open to prevent my external hard drive from over heating. - The foam on the bottom feels like it is a memory foam, but I can't know for certain. It is extremely comfortable on my lap. - Hinges are all metal, secured with screws. - The cabinet quality magnet that hold the lid closed is strong and adequate. - As a little bonus, a coaster that looks to be made of the same material as the box was included. If I have one minor complaint, it's that I'd prefer if the lowest angled setting could be a little lower, but I'm getting used to the current lowest setting. It does raise my screen up to eye-level so I'm not constantly looking downward. A couple of hints for the manufacturer for a "new and improved" model: - Attach a magnetic system to hold the mouse pad drawer in when not in use. (I may look into doing something like this to this one.) - Perhaps create a small dedicated slot in the side (maybe another on the back?) to allow a cord to pass from the inside, even while the box is closed. In summary, I would buy this again, and will recommend it to anyone looking for a quality laptop desk with storage. If you are giving this item consideration for the features it offers, go ahead, give it a try. Should anything happen to change my current opinion on this item, I will update this review at that time.

I really love this lap desk. It’s very attractive and has a little space under the desk’s top for pens and notebooks, and the angle is adjustable. It’s heavy though, so beware. I have hauled this thing through a full day at the Mayo Clinic, and I have to wish it didn’t weigh so much. I also wish that the cushion underneath on the front of the desk was bigger/fuller than the back so that part would sit a little higher. The lid is held down by magnets. Love that idea. However, my mouse pad slides in and out very easily, and that kind of detracts from the greatness of the desk. It is annoying however, and so I added velcro to the end of the mouse pad sliders, and where it meets the inside, to keep the mouse pad from slamming in and out. Regardless, while I may not be ready to haul it everywhere because of the weight, I absolutely use it all of the time at home. It’s great!

Thank you, Amazon! It's like Christmas in May. This wooden lap desk is perfectly wonderful. The storage area holds pens, booklights, my Kindle and my spare phone will fit underneath the mouse pad shelf even when it's pushed in. (This phone is small, my huge Samsung phone won't fit). This is probably the best $32 I've spent in a long time. One reviewer said they wished the front world slant farther down. Not sure you can tell from the 2nd picture but I stuck a pen behind the notches and it holds it there. You could wedge about anything in there to get it to the slant you want. The color is gorgeous on the sides, wrist pad & bottom fabric areas, it's like a light frosty gray, super soft. Exactly the perfect size, too. I *really* love this lapdesk, I can't say enough good things about it. It's one of those things I didn't know how badly I wanted until I got it. !

I truly love this desk, but it came damaged on a corner so I took off a star for that. It's comfortable on my lap and I love the mouse pad, the handle & the storage inside. It also came with a free coaster! I definitely recommend.

I never knew something so simple could bring me so much happiness! I work from home and wanted an alternate laptop situation and this is so perfect. Love the cushy padded bottom and the four different angled height positions. The little cubby inside is perfect for stashing my wireless mouse, pens, phone, chargers. The bonus is that I don’t like using my laptop touchpad and prefer to use a mouse, and the little slide out deck is covered with felt mousepad and the perfect size and extension to use your mouse on. I especially appreciate that it has the little padded band at the bottom that holds your laptop in place and acts as a wrist rest. Super portable with the handle, and so far the magnetic closure on mine has held up well enough that you can stash stuff inside of the storage area and not have it flip open when you carry it around. The composite material is holding up well. It did come with a free Little composite coaster too. Would definitely recommend and will probably be buying a few to give away!

I use a lap desk for writing, my IPad, and my laptop. I’ve bought a few of them but haven’t been happy with any. I usually have to put a pillow under them as they are never high enough or steady enough for me to work on. But not this one! It’s perfect!! And it has storage for my mouse, pens, Apple Pencil, etc. Love the slide out mouse tray too! Has a magnetic closure and carry strap for portability. Really glad I found this… now I can stop buying lap desks!

The Vigo Wood Lap Desk is very well-made and feels solid and durable. I like that it includes storage for small items, which is a nice touch. However, it is quite heavy and bulky, which makes it less portable and a bit awkward to use compared to lighter lap desks. The cushion helps with comfort, and the adjustable angle is useful, but the overall size and weight make it less convenient for regular use. It’s a good, sturdy lap desk, but the heaviness and bulk keep it from being perfect.

Great design. It has a variable angle support which I love, but the surface edges on the sides are not rounded and are uncomfortable for my hands & forearms. I love the features it has though, so I will cover the sharp edges with foam tape. It has a strong magnet that keeps it closed, so I don't have to worry about losing things out of it if I should drop it. I've been looking for these features for a long time, and it's an even trade-off for me; features vs discomfort, so I'm keeping it. The base and ledge are firm but soft, and the pretty gray fabric surface is soft too. It comes with a round coaster that matches the hard surface. It's very sturdy and has a good weight to it and it stays put on my lap. It will also make a good surface for holding the books I'm reading. It has already become one of my most prized possessions

Loved this lapdesk, it's soft but strong and very comfortable no matter if you're standing, sitting or lying down because you can adjust it accordingly. My son also loves using it for his tasks on the tablet. Very happy with my purchase.

Heel fijn laptopkussen. We hebben al ruim 10 jaar een andere, eigenlijk versleten, maar konden geen goed alternatief vinden. Met deze wel. Doordat hij wat dikker is, ligt hij goed op schoot als je op de bank zit.

Muy buena calidad, muy cómodo y con un olor a madera intenso y agradable. Cuando lo pedí pensé que me había pasado con el precio y debería haber optado por un soporte más barato. Una vez recibido veo que en realidad es baratísimo para la calidad que tiene. Me ha encantado.
