Worst essay book ever
I will get down right to the specifics. This book is supposed to help you prepare for the Essay paper of BPSC Mains exam. The person who wrote the essays in this book (I mean if he has actually written all of them himself) takes the readers to be incompetent fools and presumes them to be not well versed with the nuances of English language. You can't throw in seemingly difficult words in poorly constructed sentences to conclude that you have written a good essay. You have to understand the context of the words used too. You have to know whether this "difficult or fancy" word does justice to the idea that I wish to convey. This is exactly what the author has done. Fancy words have been thrown in the sentences to make them seem like an "intelligent" idea. Wrong facts have been mentioned. There's so much deviation from the topic of the essay. And this is all coming from an aspirant who turned to this book to get an insight into essay writing. I am completely disappointed with this book and if I were the Director of Dhyeya IAS which published this book, I would promptly fire Mr. S. M. Khalid. English isn't about using fancy words without context, rather it's using appropriate words to convey meaningful and coherent ideas. Don't be appalled by the words used in this book. It fails to enrich your knowledge on essay writing on so many counts. In fact, it's a handbook on how not to write an essay.
