Good overview but lacking in information depth
This book provides a decent high-level overview of vSphere 6.5 but is lacking in in-depth information and concepts. Also, the index is frustratingly small which makes finding specific information a chore.

Very good book diving into vSphere 6
Very good book diving into vSphere 6.5. The best book currently out for 6.5. I highly recommend this book.

not for anyone wanting to learn vSphere from scratch.
If i knew anything about VMWare I wouldnt need the book. But the book jumps in talking about stuff I never heard of so I cant follow it at all. Its totally useless to me, perhaps there was a blurb about knowing VMWare before reading the book. The section on sizing and planning looks as though it were copied from some other book I wont mention. I really thought I could learn and build out vSphere by purchasing this expensive book, but its going in the book case, until I'm sure that i dont need it and toss it out. I also feel the person who wrote this book does not speak english as a first language as the book has some odd inflections and verbage. The book uses some simplified terms at times and some complex phrases that dont make sense. I find allot of acronyms in use that are impossible to track as well. Perhaps I need a VMware for dummies book.

Not what you might think
I’m not sure who this book is for. It doesn’t have enough information to help with the fundamentals. It has some very detailed topics around storage and a few others, but it’s more for people that have no idea what those topics are, not someone trying to administer VMware. It’s also filled with URLs to articles to fill in the gaps of detail missing when a topic is mentioned instead of providing the required info in the pages. I’ve come across a few helpful sections, but I honestly can’t recommend this book to anyone interesting in VMware. Pick up the official VMware book, you’ll be much happier.

It’s very vague
This could’ve been more detail. It’s very vague not worth the read.

A really good book if you want to know how VMware vSphere 6.5 works
I bought this book because I wanted to learn the best practices to implement VMware vSphere 6.5. I had also read several books on previous versions of VMware vSphere. from 5.0 to 6.0. This book has given me several ideas and reading is easy and fast. Well done!
