DO NOT BUY
Very cheap components on the powered smart bench. None of the outlets worked from the start they would not power on. Very poor electrical assembly. Would not recommend to get smart bench. No quality control whatsoever. As far as the wood quality, pieces are made of several pieces glued together poorly with cracks and fillers. Very cheap wood. Not a 1 piece of wood stickWould not recommend this to no one

Awesome Bench
The media could not be loaded. This is a great bench at a great price! It arrived on time, and without the hefty delivery fees that you’d pay at the popular jewelry supply companies. It is larger than most basic benches, which is great…and I love the convenience of the outlets and charging ports. However, having them in that location does take up valuable real estate on the work area. IMO…It would be a bit better if they had it situated on the back side of the bench where “power box” is located. My husband was able to put it together by himself, although he stated that some of the holes weren’t quite aligned properly. Despite some of those challenges, the bench seems quite sturdy, the quality is good and it works perfectly for my soldering station. I’m glad I took a chance with this one.

Good quality for the price
This bench is sturdy and solid. Pretty well made and good looking for the money. The work surfaces are a little rough to the touch and could use some more sanding, but that will go away with use and isn’t an issue for me. Not that difficult to put together with the inclosed instructions, but a little time consuming with the bolts on the back/inside corners are a little awkward to screw in with the Allen wrench. I bought the bench with the outlets & USB ports and have to say they are well worth the $ upgrade.I originally purchased another cheaper (by about $150) bench which I ended up returning due to all the parts not being shipped. After seeing the low quality of that product (or at least what WAS sent,) I have to say you’ll be much, much happier spending a little more with the exponential level of higher quality product you’ll receive. Also have to mention that the bench arrived much sooner than the forecasted ETA, which was a bonus for me.

Silversmith work bench
First off, I am a professional metal Smith I’ve been teaching for many years and designing jewelry. I bought this desk because I liked the size because it was smaller, and it would fit perfectly into my home studio. When it was being put together, this is when I discovered it was made poorly. The side rails have fallen off. It looks like they used some type of staple gun and it’s definitely not secure, and when the side rails fell off, you can actually bend the metal which I’m calling Staples. The next problem was the wooden bench peg. It does not fit in the slot securely. Your bench peg is the soul of your bench. That’s where you do all of your work. Like filing your silver materials, trying to saw a coil of jump rings, hand polishing, using your rotary tools. I had to take my original bench peg that has a clamp attachment and attached it to the inside part where the original bench peg went. There’s also two whole slots one to where you can put your ring manual and the other one is where your bezel mandrels go. The hole is the same size as the other ring mandrel and therefore I have no support when I’m needing to use one of my bezel mandrels to shape a square bezel or to shape an oval bezel, etc…Since I don’t have any side railings, I cannot attach my LED lights so I can see what I’m doing. So I had to put a LED lamp that I use on my larger jewelers bench, and since this bench is much smaller now it doesn’t let me utilize the top of the desk the way I need to. Because the light now takes up too much space.I just noticed looking at some other benches that I’m missing a piece of wood that goes in the back of the desk. That’s where I can actually clamp my LED lights and possibly hang my my foredom rotary tool. There are other issues where the wood in the front where the wooden bench peg is located, The wood is way too thick to fit any of my other metalsmith tools because I can’t clamp them on to the desk. And these are standard size work tools that every metalsmith uses.As far as the packaging goes, it was well packed. The instructions were perfect and I thought I was really gonna get a nice desk, but I am extremely disappointed. I have not tried to contact the company. I had the desk basically still in storage and it’s original box for many many months before we actually put it together.. so I’m just now finding out all of the issues that I’m having with this desk.I will be doing a video of the desk here shortly.
