Removing these deceptively simple-looking clips is the secret to easily changing the front wiper blades on a W447 van, i.e. a Vito or Metris. Removing these and then replacing them requires bending the hook-tabs pretty far...far enough that every time I do it, I expect them to break.Surprisingly, so far they haven't, in several cycles of blade replacements. But, I still expect it every time.With a broken clip, the vehicle would be undriveable, or at least wouldn't have that wiper blade working. So having an extra set of clips on hand seems wise.
