Reliable, Effective, and Backed by Outstanding Customer Support
I purchased the Kesnos 150-pint, 7,000 sq. ft. unit with the built-in pump, and it’s been fantastic. I ran it all last summer in my basement, and the best part was never having to empty it — the built-in pump drained directly into my washing machine drain. It kept the space consistently dry, maintaining around 50% humidity the entire season. No musty or muggy basement smell — just clean, dry air. It ran continuously through the summer and always kept the humidity within range. This spring, just a few weeks shy of the one-year mark, I ran into a small issue. I emailed Kesnos support before bed, and by morning I had a real response with helpful troubleshooting steps. After confirming the issue wasn’t resolved, they offered to replace the unit at no cost the very next day.I can’t say enough good things about their customer service — no runaround, no long waits, just straightforward, fast, and helpful support. If I ever need to buy another dehumidifier or someone asks for a recommendation, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this model for both its performance and the excellent support behind it.

Works well for a large basement and excellent customer support.
I purchased this unit over a year ago. It worked excellently for my basement. Unfortunately , when I turned on the unit again recently, it was no longer working. The coils would constantly freeze over. Customer support was excellent. They responded rapidly by email within hours. They had me go through various steps to determine the source of the problem. They did determine it may be the temperature sensor and they are now planning to send me a new unit. Would recommend this dehumidifier and company doubt hesitation.

Kesnos YDA-80 vs. JD025N-80: Which 80 Pint Dehumidifier is Best?
The media could not be loaded. When living in the sweaty and sultry Southeast, you can become a fast expert in how to deal with intense humidity. Damp-Rids aren’t enough. When two hurricanes recently knocked out our power here in Florida, for nine weeks I was able to run my first dehumidifier, the Kesnos JD025N-80. It was literally a lifesaver for us and we suffered no long-term mold or mildew damage. During the ordeal I was able to reach Kesnos US-based customer service quickly, both over the phone, and through email. For our second home, I was sure I wanted another Kesnos and decided to try a similar also 80 pint model, this YDA-80. Let’s discuss similarities and weaknesses:This model has a stealthier look with the digital readout only on the top. If weight is a concern, it’s two pounds lighter at a manageable 28 lbs. although both models do have wheels. Its controls are easy to learn. Unlike the JD025N-80, it has hideaway hose storage inside the water tank area. However, for either model, I recommend getting a longer third party drain hose that can easily attach to the back of the unit. The YDA-80 does a great job automatically fanning out air while its water tank at .93 gallons has about 10% less capacity of the JD025N-80.Another advantage to this model is an additional self -drying feature. However, I did run the JD025N-80 for more than a month continuously and all stayed impressively clean and dry inside, too. Either of these five-star models is terrific and each has the ability to handle up to about 5,000 square feet with aplomb. Your decision may come down to whether you prefer to see a second digital readout on the side of the unit, or the more streamlined appearance of this one.

Kesnos dehumidifier and service (???) are a disaster
My Kesnos dehumidifier worked for 12 months and 4-5 days, then it died. (It should make anyone suspicious that Kesnos, with less than 25 employees at their headquarters and with less than $5m revenue, carefully hides the names of all their executives.). My prolonged experience with the Kesnos customer service crew by both email and on the phone has been that they have apparently been trained not to be of any help whatever but to divert, deflect, sidetrack, confuse, befog, perplex, mystify, and get the complainant off the line if she/he has contacted Kesnos over the phone and to get her/him stop writing emails if complaint is done by email. These Kesnos employees in customer (no-)service are experts only in getting rid of customers seeking help, like I did. Probably they have also been trained and forced to write the multitudes or even all the positive reviews about Kesnos dehumidifiers in order to mislead unsuspecting potential buyers into buying them for helping increase their Kesnos' pitiful revenue of less than $5m. Concrete examples of Kesnos' nasty customer no-service I have been subjected to are the following:1. Over the phone first a female (whose name I keep to myself) and then days later a male (whose name I keep to myself) at Kesnos' (lack of) customer service crew have each promised me an email with help for my dead Kenos dehumidifier within 24 hours. No such email has ever landed in my computer's Inbox.2. Then, I sent a series of emails to a female (whose name I keep to myself) at Kesnos' (lack of) customer service crew in which I carefully described the problem with my dead Kesnos dehumidifier of 12 months and a few days working life. That female's emailed responses have consistently demonstrated that she has not even bothered to read anything I stated in my emails but always kept mentioning issues (probably read off a list) that I have not ever stated. For example, if I explained an item "a", then her emailed response kept talking about item "k" or item "z" neither of which had anything to do with item "a" that my email addressed. In her several email responses, this Kesnos female could just as well have emailed me about weather in Poughkeepsie, NY or what she had for dinner four days ago. When I have repeatedly asked her for the name and contact information of her supervisor, she has simply ignored my request, just as she has also consistently ignored anything and everything in my several emails about the problem with my dead Kesnos dehumidifier. In conclusion, unless there is factual evidence to the contrary, Kesnos is only a marketing outfit of a few employees for selling dehumidifiers manufactured in China. They have no technical competence to service those dehumidifiers. Therefore, "Kesnos Buyer Beware"!In her latest email sent during the night in the early hours of Friday, December 20, 2024, the female at Kesnos "customer support" by email has offered me a potential replacement for my dead Kesnos dehumidifier but only on the condition that I write a positive review of my dead Kesnos dehumidifier to be posted at Amazon. I turned down her brazen offer to prostitute myself and lie to and deceive others by writing such requested false-positive review to encourage them to have the same dismal experience with a Kesnos dehumidifier and the tiny gang that comprises Kesnos with its sales record of less than $5 million. If you are a potential buyer of any Kesnos dehumidifier, please do yourself a favor of literally burning your money instead of buying a Kesnos unit. By burning your money up front will save you all the aggravation that you would buy into if you had bought a Kesnos unit with all its defects carefully built into it.
