Love this set.

I needed an economical boring bar for a wood project and this worked out great. Now I have several options for future projects, not to mention multiple sizes.

Definitely a decent starter set for the money. If you want a really good surface finish on steel on less rigid machines (I have a sb 10k with the cast iron bench your mileage may vary on mini lathes) puck up some dcgt 21.51 inserts to go along with them. Use the cheaper inserts for roughing and swap out for finishing passes.

Blown away by the quality of the finish. Have been struggling with HSS cutting bits. All the yoo tube machinists say don’t use carbide with a hobby lathe. Decided to try it anyway. Can’t believe the difference.

Good looking tools. I have not used them yet tho.

Wasn’t too sure about this cutter, but figured for the price, I had nothing to lose. It works amazingly well and leaves a nice surface. Inserts are easy to install and hold up for a long time

I didn`t find the carbide to be sharp and the boring bar flats were not the same angle as the top of the carbide. (The tip pointed down about 8deg) also multiple bits had to be ground so the carbide could contact the work. $30 in rubbing blocks.
