Century Original Wavemaster Freestanding Heavy Punching Bag

Love it feels great to hit thumbs up. 6 bags of 50lb sand bags makes this base very hard to move so think about that.

I have been pounding on this bag as hard as I can for years now and it just takes it. All of your frustrations, stress, pretending this is a bully: this bag just TAKES it. Thanks so much for a phenomenal product! I bought this in 2014. April 2020 update: I’m still using and abusing this. It should be noted that I have the base filled with rocks and it is very heavy. I also have fairly grippy mats under it. I’ve been boxing/training off and on for 16 years and my punches certainly shift it, but just an inch or two thanks to the setup. Still loving it and factually will buy this again if I wear it out. I don’t kick or have any particular interest in doing that. I believe there is an XL version that has more coverage with the padding and would be better suited for that. February 2021 update: STILL using this. Constantly boxing, trying new gloves and really pounding on this bag. I tried to zip tie it to the position I like, but the zip ties exploded after a few punches lol. I may put a rod through, may not. It's not much trouble to reposition exactly where I want it. December 2021 update: In transitioning to kickboxing, the padding is finally showing a bit of wear in the middle. Which makes sense. Just a bit of a small fold, yet still in fantastic condition now almost 7 years later. I’ll just keep pounding on it until it dies lol April 2022: It has finally needed some repairs. The tabs that lodge the back to the post have worn down and are no longer effective. As such, the bag simply falls. After trying a few solutions, I’ve found that drilling a few holes and installing heavy duty drywall anchors and screws has fixed it. I installed four. If they break, I’ll distribute the pressure by adding more. If that fails, I’ll cut the inner post off and instal nuts and bolts. Right back to it! June 2025: It didn’t break lol.

For the money, this is a great piece of training equipment, especially if you do not have a convenient place to hag a heavy bag. First thing's first... most people fill this with water, because it is far easier than sand. That's a mistake. Get this: https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-10704-FloTool-Spill-Measu-Funnel/dp/B000EH4V0Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486242704&sr=8-1&keywords=FloTool+Measu-Funnel and unscrew the funnel from the hose connector. It will fit nicely in the bag base bunghole (yes, I said bunghole, calm down). Get 6 50-pound bags of play sand, scoop it into the funnel, and use a hose to wash the sand down into the bag base. Do this 20-30 times and then tip the bag over to drain the water out. Repeat until all 300 lbs of sand are in the bag base. It will take an hour, easily, but VERY worth it. Once done, you will have to tip the bag on its edge (not side) and roll it where you need to. This will make for a rock-solid bag that you can kick and punch the crap out of, and the thing will not move much at all, unless you have slick floors. Place a thin foam mat under it, and it's going nowhere, unless you are Joe Rogan. Ya seen that guy's kicks?

It’s sturdy enough. I wish it was a little smaller in circumference. But I like it and use it almost every day.

I used bags like this in the gym for kickboxing and this was my favorite style because of the amount of padding, the adjustability, and weight. I bought this for home use and it's working perfect! I can make it short enough for my 5 year old to use, but tall enough that even my 6 foot husband can box and kick at the appropriate height when he wants. Even my 2 1/2 year old can use it for boxing (though isn't tall enough for kicking it at the lowest setting yet). It's nice we can have one bag for the entire family due to the adjustability. We have filled it with water and it still moves around a little bit when I punch and kick. I would recommend filling with sand if you want less movement. However, filled with water I can move it around by myself (and I only weigh 115#). I should have bought one years ago because it is so fun and is way cheaper than a gym membership!!

As a Muay Thai mom to a Karate kid. This keeps us both busy. Love it. We filled with sand and it took a bit of time even with our large funnel but I prefer to fill with sand. It’s very durable and great quality. The weight is great and the size is full size and perfect for what we do.

I come from many years of martial arts training and wanted a bag I could use at home for technique training, cardio and simple routine to reduce stress and emotional overwhelm. Although this bag can be moved and toppled with a significant side kick, I did not purchase it for that reason. If you want a bag that does not move or topple and you are going to kick with power, or do flying kicks then this is NOT the bag for you. Only a hanging bag will work for that kind of training. But for what I'm using it for I'm loving it and so is my husband. We filled it with water - very easy - placed it on a dolly and used our outdoor hose to fill it up - then rolled it on the dolly Into our workout room. We placed it on top of a bath mat that has rubber gip on the bottom. We have hard wood floors and by putting it on a bathmat with rubber grip has helped it from sliding on the wood floors. I also rotate around the bag as I work with it. So I don't mind that it moves a bit. We've had this bag for 1 month and so far we've found it to be sturdy, leak free, and really terrific to use. As a side note we also purchased Gel Injected Boxing Hand Wrap for Men and Women gloves (by Hawk Boxing) on Amazon for only $5.99 and they have been terrific to protect our skin and cushion our joints while punching the bag.

This is a good bag for cardio and occasional big hits. It will move if hit with power but generally it stable. I like feel of this bag and adjusts easily. Tried medium light punching hold up well but heavy hitting or say a lunge kick would move it. Overall I'm pleased with this purchase.

I teach kickboxing classes and do one on one and this bag is perfect filled up. It’s heavy enough. It goes too many levels. It’s very sturdy and I have no doubt it will last me a very long time.
