Perfect OEM, needs to be adjusted perfectly
Perfect fit, Chai very light and floats up to and some times slides out of hole. S hook needs to be crimped. Need to adjust chain slack to a minimum to prevent tangle and slipping off flush arm

Works for 1980's era Kohler Rialto K3402-PB Toilet
Easily installed in less than a minute... both of my toilets now operate perfectly with a very solid flapper seal and absolutely no leaks. This OEM Kohler flapper #83064 works if you have an earlier Kohler Rialto with a square drainage box and metal side lugs. I called Kohler direct to confirm. Apparently some later model Rialto toilets have a different drainage box (plastic and rounded) that requires a different type of Kohler flapper - you cannot always rely on the pictures shown on the back of the package - call Kohler if you are not sure.

> DOES THE JOB
STOPPING "RUN-ON" IN YOUR OLDER 1-PIECE KOHLER TOILET 1>> Turn the screw in the center of the top of the balcock mechanism ¼ turn to the right. > Repeat as necessary, but don't be too quick to repeat. Give it a chance to work. > The effect is to lower water level of the reservoir. I don't know why this reduces run-on. A toilet may work fine for 6 months and start running, which is fixed by a 1/4-turn, then it's fine for another year. Sometimes it may take as much as full turn (in 1/4-turn increments over a week's time) to completely stop the running on. 2>> If #1 does not solve the problem then: a> Turn off the water to the toilet. b> Remove the float. c> Remove the flapper and clean* it thoroughly with a cotton cloth. d> Clean* the seat of the flapper (in the toilet) with a cotton cloth. If you have very hard water, you may have calcium deposits on the seat which are not easily removed by rubbing. Use a cloth soaked in vinegar, or a product such as "lime-away" to clean off calcium deposits. e> Coat the flapper and the seat with a thin layer of silicon grease**. Permatex 22058 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease, 3 oz. Tube f> Reinstall the flapper and the float, turn the water back on. Even if #1 and/or #2 fixes the problem, you should still perform #3-4 while you are working on the toilet--You've already done half the work, and it takes only a few more minutes. 3>> Remove, clean*, grease**, and re-install the ballcock plunger and (o-ring) gasket. 4>> If the cover ("top assembly") of the ballcock mechanism is broken or cracked, then replace. Lasco 04-7175 Toilet Ballcock Repair Top Assembly for Coast Brand 1B1X a> Turn the water to the toilet back on. 5>> If #1-#4 do not solve the problem then a> Replace the flapper (including greasing** it). b> Replace the plunger and (o-ring) gasket (including greasing** them). Lasco 04-7183 Toilet Ballcock Repair Kit with Plunger and Gasket for Coast Brand 1B1X . See my instructions under that product, particularly for how to adjust the screw in the top of the balcock mechanism. IMPORTANT Compare the Amazon photos with the parts of your toilet to be certain that you are ordering the right parts. * "Clean" generally means to rub with a cotton cloth (not just a paper towel) until no more black comes off onto the cloth. You can use a little soap if that helps. **DO NOT use petroleum grease (or "petroleum jelly"), it will rot rubber parts. Really. Seriously, DO NOT use petroleum grease. GENERAL NOTE Even when you've done all these things, you may experience intermittent slow "running" of your toilet. Don't panic. > It can take a week or longer for the new components to "settle in". Excess silicon grease can cause components to be "sticky" for a few days. So be patient. > If the running is significant, try #1, repeat as necessary. If still a problem, tighten the 3 cover ("top assembly") screws (see my instructions under that product) > This toilet will run a little intermittently under the best of circumstances. So don't be panicked by an intermittent very light flow. > Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

Great
It lasted 6 years. I cannot complain. Aftermarket parts didn’t fit well (at least 6 years ago) so its worth going OEM. Price has gone up about 5x in 6 years. Other reviews have mentioned this fact but I will repeat it again. My toilet is 30 years old and I replaced the entire flush valve and this flapper works with the redesigned flush valve flawlessly. The new flush valve was tricky to install but I cannot fault Kohler as it is leak free. I'm replacing my flapper because the chain rusted off but it was actually still sealing well. Go to kohler.com and enter your model # to find the correct parts.

my kohler toilet is so old, I even don't know where I can find model No. and it always running water, I waste lot of water ,I bought 3 times different flapper in local hardware store, each time the employee said will fit my toilet, but actually not, I have to return it. finally this time I found right one, this flapper fit lots model of kohler, also I found my toilet model is K3402 according to the picture on the back of the package .I just spend a few minutes to replace the old one. I am very happy with it.

Very happy with this product

The flap itself is identical to the original but the chain was longer. This made it more complicated than merely taking off the old and putting on the new. So far it flaps fine.

Fixed a leaking toilet bowl instead of buying a new toilet.
