I liked this story
It had a light sense of humor and I liked the characters too. I was expecting this not to be entertaining but it is very entertaining. Also, it fooled me too ;)

good book
This was a good story. I was slightly disappointed as I have loved every other book I have read by this author but didn’t LOVE this one. It’s good, just not my personal favorite

I really enjoyed this book
I thought this was really well written. I liked both characters a lot. I liked a lot of supporting characters. While you have to kind of accept certain things when you read this genre once you get past it, you can focus on the love story and the excitement.

Meh...
I was so excited Michelle came out with another mafia series. However I do believe my expectations were a little too high. The book started great, and I was thoroughly enjoying it until about 40% in. Plot was honestly nothing special, another innocent virgin who is traded off to a mafia boss because of the wrongdoings of a family member. Blah blah blah, we've read if a hundred times, and at this point, if authors continue recycling the same storyline, then they need to get creative. I honestly didn't mind the plot because, let's face it, it's one of the big tropes in the mafia world. The story itself lacked originality. After reading the Saint and Sinner series I expected to fall in love with the Costa Nostra and their brotherhood. It's apparent Michelle tried to recreate the priesthood just in a different world and unfortunately it fell flat to me. Angelo is the mmc and honestly quite boring. I can't say whether or not I liked him because his character didn't stand out to me. He was obsessed with Vittoria because of her innocence and virginity which after reading a thousand times over throughout the book was redundant. Vittoria reminded me a lot of Kira from the second Sinners book which was my least favorite. She had no personality. She was honestly just there to praise God and do what she was told. The sex scenes were decent enough but a little repetitive. I did like the side characters, but wish we got a little more details on them. Big Ricky and Tiny, were they young? Middle aged ? Old? For them to be in the entire book their characters should've been described more. Also the step brother giorgio ( or whatever ) why was he such an important part of throughout the book only die because Angelo was mad at another situation? Of course he deserved to die but I expected a little more action between him and Angelo and Vittoria. The entire uncle storyline felt rushed and honestly felt like it was just thrown in there to create some sort of drama. We also hear the name Victoria thrown around quite a few times but never brought into the story. Overall I am quite disappointed with the first book of Michelle's new series. Again I was expecting to be thrown into the mafia world she creates so beautifully but it just didn't happen this time around. I haven't decided if I'm going to continue this series or not. I felt as though Michelle wrote this book on a whim and didn't put much into it. I hate to be that harsh but it is what it is. Also insta-lust/love which I don't care for. One more thing before I finish this lengthy review is the obsession Angelo had with Vittoria innocence and virginity was not only odd repetitive but odd to say the least. Can we please get an mmc who doesn't treat their wive like a child !? Rant over. Enjoy the book because I sure didn't.

Excellent ❣️
This is the second time I’ve read this book and I loved it just as much as the first time. I’m a big fan of Michelle Heard’s and have read all of her books. She has a gift for stories that while reading flow through my mind like a movie. Thank you for sharing your stories with us and I appreciate your editing staff 💖

Pretty good, easy read. Some minor surprises along the way. A little more development of the love story would have been nice, but overall an enjoyable read.

Definitely Recommend!!!
This book is definitely among my favorites.WARNING Spoilers ahead:Catholic priests give the homily during Mass. Not a sermon. Just a minor insignificant detail.I loved how Angelo never once thought to prey on Vittoria. By all accounts, he is a hunter. A predator and head of 1 of the 5 families within Cosa Nostra, but he is not a cruel man. Quite the opposite. He showed Vittoria compassion and respect when she hadn't known that for years since losing her father. Angelo is the embodiment of a provider and protector to Vittoria. I am enamored by the fact that they both embraced their marital vows from the moment they were spoken. This is a love story. The story of a woman who had been physically abused by her stepbrother for years and a man who witnessed the abuse of his own mother growing up. It shaped the husband he wanted to be. It took Vittoria a bit to believe that Angelo was a man of his word. She doubted him briefly when things went sideways in Sicily, but one can understand that came from years of trauma and abuse. She was skittish and fearful. This is a story you can't just read once. You fall in love with the storyline and the main characters.I loved this story and would recommend it to anyone who loves the tropes of an age gap, with an older, overprotective male, falling in love with a virgin female who falls in love just as fiercely. I loved that she allowed her husband to be the leader in the home, but he never silenced her from having a voice. This is a story of acceptance. Loving someone means accepting them for who they are and not trying to change them to be who you would like them to become. Vittoria accepted that outside the home, Angelo was a ruthless murdering who acted as judge, jury and executioner to anyone who betrayed him, messed with his business or harmed Vittoria.Angelo for his part accepted that Vittoria wanted a family, her church and people to cook and care for.Neither tried to stop the other from being who they are. Will be reading this again and again.
