Icemaker is working!
The installation part is easy. It is waiting for the ice to melt off of the icemaker that takes time. So far so good. Ice maker is making ice without freezing over so far. Fingers crossed. Good product.

Fits well
It fits well and it seems to help. So far 1 week and the ice maker had not frozen up I did replace the ice maker mechanism and sealed the ice maker compartment at the same time as I installed this.

So far so good (Installed 10 October 2023)
So here's a chance to salvage that $2000 plus Samsung Refrigerator. If you not comfortable with doing this type of repair just hire someone to install the part after you've completely defrosted your refrigerator. If you're familiar with removing this ice maker you'll be able to install this item with no problems. First you'll need to completely defrost the ice maker and the air ducting around it. Once you're able to remove the ice maker you'll want to verify all of the ice has melted and dry out the ice maker compartment as much as possible. I just used a fan to defrost the entire refrigerator. (The results are worth the effort of emptying the frig and defrosting). The item is easy to install and you can put it all back together in few minutes at that point. While you're debating on buying this item you'll want to check the door seals as they seem to allow for more leaks over time as it ages. I found that the tops of my doors weren't sealing at all and a gap had formed that simply allowed a ton of moisture to continually enter the refrigerator (put a light source in the frig, turn off the lights in the kitchen, and look for light escaping. Most will require a step stool or ladder unless you're 6'7" like me). I used some self adhesive foam trim as a quick fix.. These leaks were the source of most of our issues with this samsung appliance. You know if you have a moisture issue if the back panel (big shinny one in the back) is covered in condensation. We had the solid block of ice around the ice maker and condensation on everything in the refrigerator section but nothing in the chiller or freezer section. Now I simply listen for a least one ice drop on the daily. Hope this helps..
