Thunder Models 1:35 Scammell Pioneer R100 Heavy Artillery Tractor

The Thunder Models Scammell Pioneer R100 model is an excellent product but definitely not one for beginners. The parts are clearly detailed and, when put together properly, produce an excellent result. However, many parts need cleaning up before they can be used. Some are also quite fragile and you need to take great care separating them from the sprue. Also, locating parts correctly is not always easy. For example getting the power train between engine, gearbox and winch drive in the correct alignment takes a bit of work. There are defined locations for these parts but they become obscured as the parts themselves are put in place. I would strongly advise reading through the instructions from beginning to end before starting to glue anything down. In one or two place it only becomes completely clear where a part fits when it is seen in a later picture. It is also slightly disappointing that the steering does not function although you can find an excellent clip on youtube of how to make it work correctly. So, overall an excellent model IF you take your time and double check everything before you reach for the glue.
