I was lured into buying this by the advertisements to prepare you to take the FE mechanical in just 2 weeks. It doesn’t cut it. I was so unprepared for the FE when I took it today, about 3 weeks after I bought the book.First of all, book is totally worthless. It has some basic formulas in it that are replications of the FE provided reference. That would be fine if they defined how to use the formulas, showed some examples, etc. But the book basically says ‘this is an essential thing to know’ about everything. Well, yeah, true, but that doesn’t help.The free gifts: 1100 practice problems are mainly conceptual with a few problems requiring formulas here and there. But the problems aren’t even close to the difficulty I encountered in the exam. That includes the conceptual problems. They are tricky on the exam. Oh, and if you want the answers worked out you have to spend another $20 for that.The videos were just a guy showing slides and reading them quickly, it was essentially a several hours long slide showing of the concepts you will tackle, which you can get in 5 minutes for free by reading the fe provided reference for your test.Flash cards: don’t even bother. There’s like 8 per topic. Anybody taking the FE will have those answers memorized one time through.Worst part is I found many, many errors in the practice problems.Don’t waste your time here. Move on to the more known and used prep guides. They are harder, yes, but the test can be harder than those prep problems also!
