Highest quality kilt, excellent design - lifetime warranty on snaps!
We are very impressed with the UT Kilts “Standard” utility kilt. My husband loves his kilts and is an exhaustive researcher, so I’m happy to share a little bit about his experience and what he’s learned. Ultimately my husband was choosing between the UT Kilt and the Damn Near Kilt ‘Em (DNKE) kilt, and he chose the UT Kilt for the below reasons. My husband’s waist is 34 inches, and the 36 fit exactly as promised.Compared to the DKNE, the UT Kilt is:- Better made- Stronger stitching with reinforcement at the pleats- More robust snaps, that are back with a lifetime warranty- Adjustability at waistband to accommodate a couple extra inches, if needed- Wider front panel compared to DNKE, which means that the pleating begins toward the sideMy husband reached out to UT Kilts with a few questions and I will add that it was the Owner/CEO, Bryce, who responded promptly and in detail to his questions. SO AWESOME! Additionally, if you don’t see the specific combination that you like online, it’s possible to request a special order and get EXACTLY what you want in about 5 weeks.A final note: I have worked professionally in costume design and construct both modern and period garments. This means that I am typically VERY critical of the workmanship of off-the-rack garments. My impression of the quality of the UT Kilt is simply excellent, with the kind of finishing, reinforcement and stitch detail that promises a lifetime of wear. Plus, it’s one of the most attractive modern kilt designs available.

Shrunk to a perfect fit!
We ordered for my husband and used the measurements the Vendor specified measured at the Navel. Now my husband is built more like a potato then the average Irishman... and when it arrived he decided he was going to wear it out to the local beer place. It being his first time wearing a kilt, he decided to wear it in the tradition sense... you know.. because the difference between a Kilt and a Skirt is that if you wear something under it, its a skirt... right?Now... my husband is built more like a potato than the delicious looking men who model these things, so when he wore it that first night, he realized... it was loose enough, if he sucked his ample dad-bod beer gut in at all... the damn thing would fall down around his ankles... revealing everything he wasn't wearing underneath.... he actually demonstrated this for me.... in the privacy of our home thank goodness! So, before we returned it, we decided maybe it would shrink a little... it is made of mostly cotton after all. He tried it on this morning, and reports a perfect fit!It is otherwise a great Kilt... good construction at an affordable price... washing it is a breeze, and so is wearing it (it has become my husbands favorite) We will definitely be buying another!

Born Free, Live Free!
OMG why is it not "socially acceptable" for a man to wear a Skirt!! I had been told in the past that I should try wearing a Kilt, as I enjoy feeling "free" while hiking or working. So after some quick research about fitting I decided I would jump into the Kilt world with the UT Utility Kilt which was priced a lot lower then a lot of the other products out there. Upon its arrival it seems to be very well made, out of a strong canvas material. The snaps are well made, as well as all the hems. As stated by other reviewers measuring is important, as you don't wear a Kilt at your waist, but higher up, so if you are like me, with a bit of a beer belly, you may need the extra couple of inches. It does have large belt loops also, so you can wear it lower and use a belt if you prefer.I absolutely love wearing it. I feel like I'm getting weird looks at the grocery store or out and about, but in the world we live in now, what should be so weird about a man in a Kilt anyway! I did have 1 time where where a group of teenagers made a comment, which I gladly remarked back that they should try it as its amazing to be free. It really makes me think what a weird society we live in, where a man in a Kilt is strange, but a women can wear a string bikini and its OK! I use it all the time for hiking, which is perfect as you have no chaffing, a nice breeze and no restrictions on movement. I do have to think twice when sitting down, and getting out of the car to prevent a "sneak peek", but that's getting easier. The pockets are deep and have ample room. I would like to have another pocket lined up more with where normal pants pockets are located, but that isn't that big of deal. So all those looking at these reviews you can't go wrong with this product, and I think it is a great introduction before you spend the big bucks on some other name brand...

CURSES!
I actually love this kilt!I've had it for two years now.It was a total surprise to me today that the buckle on the side broke!I wear this kilt fairly regularly two or three times a month maybe? Not one of my go to kilts, I have several other black kilts from various makers I wear more frequently.I recently lost weight so I am having to pull in the side a smidge, one hole difference.I've been wearing it at the new thinner grommet for about six months. It's showed no signs of bending or wear and tear so totally bummed when it popped off in my hand.Guess I get to go look for buckles now.Would still recommend the kilt. It's lighter weight canvas, dries quickly if ya get it wet in the rain or adventuring in life.Pleats are sewn in and hold well. Doesn't wrinkle much.Because it's lighter I was able to pack two kilts on my year long SE Asia trip (fall 2022- winter of 23) and wore them frequently.I'll likely buy more when I'm more flush with cash.Just be aware of the possibility of the hardware breaking.

Excelent value in a utility kilt!
I have bought these kilts directly from Brice at UT Kilts before, shipping them across the boarder with Amazon is just much easier, Fedex brokerage is a pain. The kilts are awesome and priced so that you really can wear them almost everywhere for almost everything.
