My gate swings both directions, no center strike. How will this work if theres no strike plate? hold it in closed position manually?

My experience is that the lock slides together and catches on the magnetic pull and holds in place.

Is this safe to use for all seasons?? like really more winter then anything?? will it freeze?

This model does not have a key lock. It maybe available but I do not know what the model number is.

Will this work for a sliding gate?

This product was used on a door we made and it works so well. The magnet is strong enough to hold. Great product. I believe this would work for like a small gate like on a porch for a doggie gate.
