FYI: when you open this the box says “Tan AF”. I thought that another parent might like to know that. I kinda thought it was a little inappropriate for my daughter to see but oh well. I have been using this “Tan AF” spray tanning machine for about 3 months to spray my 14 year old before she competes in dance competitions. It has saved me a lot of money because I used to pay to have professional spray tans and the cost of one tan paid for this machine! I have never tried tanning myself so I cannot speak to the difficulty of that but it seems like it would be hard to get it even on many parts of your own body so I would recommend getting another person to spray you. I did use the solution that came with the machine one time and it was ok. Initially it looks green but the green washes off and the tan was pretty nice the next day. The solution that comes with the machine is a pretty small bottle, so got a different solution from another vendor and my daughter likes the color of that one better. There is definitely a learning curve to spray tanning. Here are some tips for using this machine: Use the middle setting (3-4), make up and down sweeps followed by side to side and don’t get too close to the body. Also prep is super important. Take a shower and shave a couple hours before tanning, no lotion, no deodorant and get completely dry. After tanning, do not get near anything wet WATER IS THE ENEMY OF SPRAY TANS.

I got "I want the darkest tan possible" and it's AMAZING. I used to get spray tans, but we were heading to a theme park and I didn't wanna pay for one so I bought this. This is the first time I used this brand and I love it so much, esp for the price. It goes in a gray color so you don't turn orange due to the undertones in it. I had a smooth, even tan that looked natural. The first time I left it on for four hours, and then the second time I slept in in (so it was probably on for 10 hours total). It did stain my sheets a bit, but leaving it on for 10 hours it was AMAZING. super dark and even tan. It says you can leave it on for just an hour, but I would recommend sleeping in it if you want a dark tan. It lasted about 4 days when I left it on for 4 hours, I was going to the water park tho and did get in a chlorine pool. The time I left it on for 10 hours it lasted a week before it started to chip off in places that had a lot of sweat and friction while I'm being active. I used an exfoliating glove and 99% of it came off. It does have the fake tanner smell, but they all do. Would definitely recommend this over St Tropez for the price, there's no reason to pay so much when you can get the same effect for $10. Update to my first review: Returned the awful splattering one and got a new one. This one thankfully doesn’t splatter BUT it is just as weak as the other one. Total garbage. What a massive disappointment. Used this brand for years. Now it takes at least 5+ times as long to tan and it still isn’t as good of coverage … even after going over and over and over again. What a total waste of money. There has to be a way to adjust the flow. (Aside from the dial that barely does anything). After years of tanning … now I have to find a new type of gun that actually works. These are absolute crap now. Initial review- I’ve had 2 or 3 of these b.tan guns over the years and they were great. I accidentally broke my last one and the other ones wore out after years of use. I loved them. Never an issue. Decided to get a new one (same brand, of course) and it’s awful. The spray is beyond weak. It took F O R E V E R …and then started splattering the tanning solution all over. I’ve adjusted the settings and it doesn’t help. I don’t know if it’s this new model that’s horribly bad …or if I just got a cruddy one. Streaky splatters is not the look I wanted. Wish I could get the old model.

I’ve had a spray tan membership at a salon for a few years now. Thought I’d try to save some $$$ and try it at home. Definitely easy to do with this machine, but not overly impressed with the results. The spray itself is so fine, and half the time I don’t think anything is coming out. I’ve tried adjusting the air flow, but can’t tell a difference. It just turns out really streaky and blotchy because there’s so little solution coming out, you have to be so close to yourself then you can see the lines. Maybe I’m used to an all over, full coverage tan, and this just doesn’t produce the same results. I’m sure it’s fine for someone who isn’t used to spray tanning weekly and having awesome results. For the price, I think it’s decent. But I upgraded the color to a name brand and I like it a lot more than what came with the machine. Also, 30 days isn’t long enough to decide if you’re keeping this. I’m actually shopping for something better.

I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this product is! It is not Orange. And did I tell you that it is not Orange? You won't be orange either! Violet-based or green based, it's genius. I have this product and their "love at first tan"and I love them both. It is a very lightweight moose which I thought would lack color and coverage, but this stuff packs a punch! The value of this product is amazing, I get so many applications from one bottle. Most products with this much air in them are pretty much just air. Some tips I recommend it for the face and entire body. I put it on my hands and feet very carefully with a small makeup brush. It works almost INSTANTLY so wash your hands immediately or wear surgical gloves!!!! Blend well and correct / wipe mistakes very quickly! I get the same results even if I put on tight leggings 15 minutes after application. So you don't have to go around naked for 5 hours. Fyi, I am natural blonde hair with neutral skin tone. My legs do not tan well after years in the Sun and this makes them look brown! I have not tried the gloves or applicators they have yet. Did I mention that you will not turn orange? ;)
