Oxford Word Skills: Basic: Student's Pack (Book and CD-ROM) Paperback – 20 Mar. 2008

I recently bought the whole series of three Oxford Word Skills to repeat the important vocabulary and close existing gaps(I am not a native speaker). Having done half of the first volume I think I am allowed to say that working with Oxford Word Skills is pure fun and lasting education. The text material is transparent, neatly arranged and, as mentioned, fun to work with. Sections for irregular verbs, adjectives, and nouns add to the understanding as do the practical exercises. I can highly recommend these books. Due to my level I am quickly making progress so I am just wondering at which point it will get sticky :-)

It is a great book for improving vocabulary. All topics are in good order and can help children improve their English learning, usage of basic words and vocabulary skills. I would highly recommend this book for any child who wants to improve vocabulary.

I use this book a lot when teaching. I set a lot of the HW from this book as it's great or self study.

I already had the Intermediate and Advanced editions of this book and they are great for getting students to work specifically on vocabulary a Sector at a time. The Basic edition is also excellent. They are all well organised and have lots of pictures of a wide variety of items in each of the sectors presented. A good investment for ESL Teachers and students alike.
