Mazuri Large Bird Diet

Bought for my blue and gold macaw. She absolutely loved the big pieces but wouldn't eat the small pieces and this food is 90% small pieces. She especially didn't like the little donut shaped pieces for whatever reason. Which is very disappointing and is a waste because she throws majority of the small pieces on the floor. I think this is great food and would have given 5 stars if at least 50% of the food had been big pieces for larger birds like mine. Then maybe she would have eaten more of it instead of throwing it on the floor. Loved this food but it's not cost effective for us because she only eats the big pieces and there aren't enough of the big pieces in it. **Update** I gave my bird the rest of the food to eat so as not to completely waste it and my bird decided she likes this food and now she won't eat anything else. She's eating big and small bits alike and not throwing any on the floor anymore! Absolutely amazing because she is super picky and usually doesn't change her mind. Best bird food we've tried so far and I think this is going to be our go to from now on :)

Only food I feed my African Grey. She wastes very little of it while eating and is healthy.

My Blue and Gold Macaw loves this food. I was buying Kaytee Original for years but can no longer get the bags in bulk. I've tried a couple different brands and this one seems to be his favorite.

I rarely ever leave a review. Mazuri pellets were recommended to me for my bird. I have tried Higgens before- they were very expensive and Clarence wouldn't touch them. I almost didn't buy these pellets because of his reaction to the other brands, but the woman who recommended them assured me if I took away his food, only gave him pellets, he would not starve himself, and he would eat the pellets. I didn't have to worry, Clarence dug right in immediately. His only problem?- he can't whistle with his beak full!

I hope Amazon always keeps this in stock because it's an excellent food and Winter loves it. There was a time when Amazon didn't carry it for a while so I contacted Mazuri. I was told they have stopped shipping to Canada, but it's back. I am so thankful. It's been a hard food to find. I could have had it shipped from B.C. but that would have been a little extreme. Highly recommend if you are a parrot owner.
