Great Recreational kayak, solid build
I was always looking at kayaks overwhelmed with features and models but I noticed this kayak had 350 lbs capacity, wide at 34 inches, and had a PREMIUM SEAT! I don’t use it for fishing but as a bigger guy 6’2” 260 this kayak was great. It was on sale so I decided to order. It had some minor scratches on the hull but it floats. This is great for your float rivers and lakes just to get out of the water. It doesn’t track like a 12 foot kayak but that’s expected with this hull. I like it for recreation and convenience as it is one of the lighter models that I can get up on my roof rack solo and carry to the water. It’s not the prettiest design but the premium seat and option to sit low or high are excellent for me. My main purpose was to get a decent kayak to start getting out on the water and not pay so much I worry about damage. The way these are built is simple and it looks like material that will hold up to some scrapes and dings. I would caution against storing in the sun and if you do get a cover because the material can warp or crack over time baking in the sun. Great for recreational paddling types. Maybe for a hardcore kayaker or fisher this would be sub optimal but it’s great for me. More stability than some rec kayaks but for me I would probably not stand on this one but I read that some folks are able to. The seat alone sold me because it allows you to sit in a regular, high support chair making being out on the water for hours perfectly comfortable. I would rather sacrifice speed for a wider hull and comfortable seat personally. Would buy again!

Very Stable and a Good Value
Very stable kayak and good value for the money. I purchased this for our son who loves to fish and has been asking for one for a long time. He is not a very strong swimmer and although he always wears a good life vest we were concerned about him flipping the kayak especially in the middle of the lake. However, he feels very comfortable in this kayak and it has all the features he wanted. He often stays out fishing in the small lakes around our county for hours. It is very durable and light enough where he can lift it onto and off his car roof rack by himself.

Very Stable platform, but beware if you live in Ohio!!!!
A company named RXO out of central Ohio delivered my kayak 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I got a courtesy call from the driver when he was an hour out from my house, and was super polite! When I got home, I observed that the driver had placed the kayak right where I had asked, and it was double wrapped in bubble wrap and plastic. There were no scratches, dents, or damage at all. Overall this was the best delivery I've ever had, and my hat's off to RXO. That being said, I was about to experience some initial pains before I could get it in the water. I had done my homework and knew beforehand that the state of Ohio required kayaks to be registered. What I did not know is that in order to register a kayak at least 10 feet in length, you have to have a Hull Identification Number verification inspection and have a completed Manufacturer's Declaration of Origin form already filled out. It took several phone calls and online inquiries before I discovered that Pelican has a downloadable owner's manual (a paper copy did not accompany the kayak itself). In the middle of the owner's manual is a PDF formatted Manufacturer's Declaration of Origin, which can be completed by the new owner. For anyone in this situation, the Hull ID number is located on the right rear corner of all Pelican kayaks. The biggest problem was that I had to drive 2 hours away to a Department of Natural Resources Boat Registration Agent, for all of 10 minutes while they ran the Hull ID # through an international database to ensure it wasn't stolen, after which they gave me a little slip of paper which I had to drive all the way home and go to the local Title Office so I could get my registration stickers. What a pain!!! Now, on to the good stuff!! This thing handles like a dream! I bought it to bass fish, and it tracks straight as an arrow, while also being a very stable platform to stand and cast WAY back into the veggies to get those fall bucket mouths out of their hiding grounds. I had originally been torn on whether to buy the Catch 100 or the 120, but I went with the 100 for the portability factor and this thing has tons of storage room and standing space. Just for reference, I am 5'10" and 250 pounds and I added at least 50 pounds of gear, which this kayak handled with no problems. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

not good
broke a foot support as soon as i got in it and it started taking in water as soon as i got my 200 lb frame seated. it has four open holes through the vessel bottom and at 200 lbs it will sink quick. i got scupper plugs and they leak, will have to return this thing,
