This is a very nice instrument for the price. It is well made, balanced, and other than needing a new set of strings on arrival, it has been a really funny instrument to play with. The non-slip grips on the bottom make it very steady to play in a sitting position.

A good buy I believe. I like the neck.. nice and wide for easily playing individual strings. The pickup is OK, and the guitar looks nice and vintagey. The Wilkinson tuners required replacing though.. one was loose and didn’t catch the string tension very well. Cosmo music sent me replacements which were easily installed, and now all is good. Thanks Cosmo!

This lap steel sounds surprisingly good. Putting on heavier strings required me to enlarge the string entry holes on the back of the bridge and deepen the string slots on the nut. I don’t know if the shallow string slots on the nut were a QC issue or a normal factory set up.

As another reviewer says on Amazon.com, you'll need to notch the nut grooves slightly. I used a wallpaper scraper which was perfect but a stanley blade will do (if no small files at hand!) The volume (button) range is not that great but the tonal (button) range is okay. The humbucker pickup is not that great either but is passable and I'll leave replacing the pickup and electronics when the warranty runs out. The strings mine came with were okay and the string tension is best when tuned to C6 but due to being out of tune when arrived (usual for many new guitars), it was a case of trial and error in finding which tuning suited due to having no info about this particular guitar. The booklet Epiphone shipped with the guitar had no info about it's factory setting tuning but rather had info about regular six string guitars and four string basses which was no use whatsoever. Overall a decent lap steel and look forward to learning how to master it. i would've gave a rating of 5/5 if not for the average electronics and pickup but still worth the price.
