This is a tricky item to review. My husband has end stage dementia, only eating purée foods with a shaky hand. The spoon itself is ok quality wise. The design did not work for him however. There are two basic reasons. First, the spoon shape is too broad end to end to place it in/out of his month. He keeps closing his month around it and can’t get it out. Secondly, the scoop of the spoon is too deep and he is unable to take an entire spoonful. I contribute that to the unfamiliar angle but I am not sure. Again, the design didn’t work for us.

Of course the concept is smart. It is a bit harder to teach an elder with alzeimers but it is getting better. Have to keep explaining that it is easier to hold spoon with full hand instead of three fingers. In all great product, exactly as advertised and arrived in perfect condition.

Well constructed, useful in concept, but spoon bowl is entirely too small, does not hold an adequate amount of food even for a geriatric with dementia, takes 6 months to eat a meal with this utensil, too expensive.

We haven't used this a lot because my husband says it is a strange angle, but I think at some point it will be handy to use. It is well made and I personally like the angle of the spoon. Wishing there were a fork like this!

This was a little shorter than I expected. I returned it because we did not need it any longer. I believe with any kind of red sauce it might stain easily. But overall it’s what I expected

Thiscl worked perfectly for my Mom, who struggles with dementia, arthritis and glaucoma. Unfortunately, we lost it the first week and at $12+ per spoon, we are worried about replacement costs.

I bought this spoon to enable a child with cerebral palsy to feed herself more independently.

I definitely recommend this for elderly people, it’s easy to hold and they don’t spill even soup.
